Additional Persecution News from China – January 4, 2013 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in eight cities or counties in five provinces. In this report, four Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least eight practitioners were illegally arrested.

2. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gong Chengge and Others Detained

Mr. Gong Chengge, Ms. Su Wenling and others were arrested by officers from two Police Teams of the Tielinghe Town Community Police Office, Yangming Police Department on December 14, 2012, for handing out New Year's calendars in Qingmei Village, Tielinghe Town. They are being held in the Mudanjiang No.2 Detention Center.

3. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Feng and His Wife Detained

Mr. Feng and his wife (60 years old) from Zhangdian District, Zibo City were arrested on December 28, 2012 for handing out calenders with facts about Falun Gong written on them. They were sent to the Fujia Detention Center.

4. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Lu Bagen Detained

Mr. Lu Bagen from Zhenjiang City was arrested for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong near Jiuli Street on the morning of January 3, 2013. He is being held in the Jiulijie Police Station.

5. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Fengqin and Ms. Wang Chunlan Detained

Ms. Tang Fengqin and Ms. Wang Chunlan from Rushan City were arrested by officers from the Rushan City Domestic Security Division for explaining facts about Falun Gong in the Rushanzhai Market on December 26, 2012. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Wang Chunlan was released the next day after being made to pay 2,000 yuan. Ms. Tang Fengqin is still being held in the Rushan City Detention Center.

6. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Yi Laiyang Cruelly Tortured in Wenzhen Prison

Mr. Yi Laiyang from Jiujiang City was sentenced in Beijing. He was later sent to the Wenzhen Prison in Jiangxi Province and was cruelly tortured there.

7. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Wene and Ms. Kang Guiqin Detained

Ms. Wei Wene and her sister-in-law Ms. Kang Guiqin from Wei County, Zhangjiakou City were arrested by officers from the Wei County Police Department and the 610 Office of the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of December 31, 2012. Their homes were ransacked and their computers, printers, cell phones and other items were confiscated.

Ms. Wei was sent to the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City. Ms. Kang was sent to Shisanli Custody in Zhangjiakou City.
