Practitioner Gao Yuanzhuang from Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province Arrested

(Minghui.org) Mr. Gao Yuanzhuang is a resident of Village 14 in Jinhe Township, Suihua, Heilongjiang Province. He was arrested while working in the fields in Suihua on October 26, 2012 by officers from the Beilin District Police Department.

Mr. Gao was forced to leave his home last year in order to avoid persecution from local authorities. He worked at many different, temporary jobs to earn a living. He returned home three times, but according to people familiar with the situation, he was reported to the authorities this time while at his home.

Ms. Liu Shenglian, Mr. Gao's wife, went with practitioners Yao Zhenhua and Liu Yuhua to distribute Falun Gong materials on December 5, 2011, but were arrested by authorities from the Xingfu Police Station. The next day, officers from the Beilin District 610 Office of Suihua and Jinhe Police Station broke into the homes of practitioners Liu Shenglian, Yao Zhenhua, and Liu Yuhua, but did not find any "illegal" materials. These practitioners were held in the Suihua Detention Center. Ms. Liu Shenglian was later sentenced to one year of forced labor and detained in the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Gao later left home to avoid potential persecution.

Mr. Gao is a diligent and earnest person, always ready to help others. He often helped fellow villagers who were widows, widowers, and disabled due to illness. He sometimes left his own work in order to help others. Since portions of the village roads were in poor condition (making them difficult for fellow villagers to use), he took the initiative to repair them. Most of the local villagers knew that Falun Gong taught people to be good persons and had miraculous healing effects; therefore, practitioners were well known in the village.
