(Minghui.org) Greetings to esteemed Master, greetings to fellow practitioners. I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2000. I am a division chief in the China Steel Company in Kaohsiung. I would like to take this opportunity to share how I have clarified the facts about the persecution, helped people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, and promoted Shen Yun performances and The Epoch Times newspaper on business trips in China.
Clarifying the Facts Any Time, Any Place
I have traveled to China many times in an effort to help expand our company and consult with other similar international companies regarding pricing and purchasing procedures. I was once in charge of a project that was worth two billion NTD (US$67 million). Initially, I only wanted to deal with companies from the US, Japan, and Europe, who were to bid on the project. A China-based company expressed its willingness to bid as well through certain connections. I did not think that it was qualified, and declined the company, yet this company tried many tactics, wanting to get in. Since it offered a lower cost for building a new factory, my supervisor agreed to let this company join the bidding process. In the end, this Chinese company received the job. Because of that, I had many opportunities to go to China on business trips. I realized that nothing happens by chance, and that this arrangement was made for me to be able to go to China and clarify the facts.
During my first trip to China, five of my coworkers accompanied me, and I was not sure how to approach people. I wore a Falun emblem on my shirt and hoped to get the company representatives' attention, but that did not work. While we had dinner together and they took turns toasting, I said, “I don't drink because I am a Falun Dafa practitioner.” When they asked me questions, I told them, “Falun Dafa is currently outlawed and persecuted by your government.” One of them said, “Falun Dafa in Taiwan must be different from the one in China.” I told them there was only one Falun Dafa and that we followed the same principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and have the same Master. “Your government lied to you in order to sustain this illegal persecution,” I said. I then told them that Falun Dafa was taught and practiced by people in over 80 countries and areas around the world, and that it has received numerous proclamations. They all listened to me carefully.
The next day a salesperson from the company told me that he previously had several coworkers who practiced Falun Dafa. One of them was in the top administrative level, and he believed that Falun Dafa was so precious that he spent almost a year's worth of his salary to buy Falun Dafa books for every staff member.
I went to Taiyuan, Shanxi another time, to have dinner with the company's president. While I was thinking how I could clarify the facts, my supervisor introduced me to a Ms. Wang from Changchun, Jilin. It was her first day at work. I was grateful to Master for this arrangement. I greeted her and introduced myself, “So, I heard that you are from Changchun? Congratulations, you come from the same town as a famous person.” She had a big smile and asked me who that person was, and I told her, “It is Mr. Li Hongzhi.” She looked down and stopped talking to me. I continued, “I know what you are thinking. However, those are lies spread by your government so that it could launch an illegal suppression of Falun Dafa.” She asked coldly, “Then why do they set themselves on fire?” I was amazed how the staged self-immolation had fooled so many people. I told her what really happened during this incident on Tiananmen Square and how the International Educational Development (IED) organization had evidence that the immolation was a hoax staged by the CCP. I also told her how popular Falun Dafa was around the world. “Miss, I am from Taiwan and have no reason to lie to you about this persecution. I may never see you again, and what good would it do if I lie to you? It is very important that you know what really happened, the truth. I will send you more information and DVDs when I get back to Taiwan. Please believe me,” I said to her sincerely. She smiled and nodded.
I was once in Nanjing for three days. One day, after I was finished with work, I took a taxi from the hotel to a place where I could view the Yangtze River. I sat next to the driver so I could talk to him more comfortably. I asked him how he was doing and he began cursing at the CCP, using as many bad words as he possibly could. I was happy for him. After he was done, I told him more about the CCP's evil deeds since its reign began, and about quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I explained to him that this was to draw a line between him and the CCP so that he could be saved one day when the CCP was eliminated. The driver had a simple and naive smile on his face and I told him to take this opportunity because I may not see him again. I confirmed with him whether he truly wanted to quit the CCP, and he nodded his head firmly. I helped him to do so after I got back to Taiwan.
Regrets
I made a trip to Taiyuan to inspect a factory and noticed that a certain component was not being made in the factory, which I thought should be, thus I asked questions. The staff there told me they had contracted it to a factory 80 miles away in Shijiazhuang. Shijiazhuang is a place where the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners is very severe. I immediately asked the staff to take me there for an inspection. I wanted to go there even if I could only send forth righteous thoughts from nearby. However, later in the afternoon I was told that no car was available to take me there. I looked within and decided that I would ask the staff later to arrange a car for me. Yet, I was busy later with meetings and totally forgot about it. Thereafter, I felt truly sorry that I did not do so well that time.
Promoting The Epoch Times and Shen Yun
I often meet business owners because of my job. They are decision makers in their companies and hence I promote The Epoch Times newspaper and Shen Yun Performing Arts to them. When I go on a business trip, I take a copy of the latest Epoch Times for the business owner I am to meet with that day. Some of them invest in China and some do not. For those who invest in China, I tell them that The Epoch Times has in-depth reports on the real face of China, which no other media has. I tell them that this kind of information will have a great impact on their investments in China. I give them examples of businessmen in China who were persecuted by Chinese officials, so that they will have a better idea of how reading The Epoch Times can help them with managing their business in China. For those who do not invest in China, I also stress that the reports in The Epoch Times about China are true and in-depth, and if we can share these facts with our relatives and friends, it will help minimize their risks when investing in China. This way, they would be doing great deeds in helping others and accumulate a lot of virtue. All of the business owners I visited have since subscribed to The Epoch Times. One of them in Taichung enjoyed The Epoch Times so much that he introduced it to his other business partners.
A few years ago a new neighbor moved in across the street. I gave him a copy of The Epoch Times. The next day when he saw me, he gave me the thumbs-up and said, “Everything in that newspaper is true.” He told me that he once believed other media in Taiwan, which claimed to have a great outlook on China. He went to China with one of his friends and brought US$34 million with him. Not much later, they returned to Taiwan with nothing. He said that if he had read The Epoch Times earlier, he would not have invested in China. A business owner in Taoyuan has been an Epoch Times subscriber for a long time and was very alert about China's environment. He divested from China before the new Labor Contract Law was implemented. Thereafter, he told me when he divested, he made 80 percent profit from his investment and had he not done so, he would have lost quite a lot.
I also promoted Shen Yun Performing Arts to the business owners I met. One of them who lived in Taipei called me right after he finished watching the Shen Yun performance for the first time. He told me that he had never watched anything that spectacular, and his wife praised him for suddenly becoming so culturally educated. This year I contacted him and said, “I heard that your brother is ill and in intensive care. Are you still able to go to the show?” He replied, “How can I not see it? I have to see Shen Yun. My brother could recover faster if he did that too. Please get me four US$170-tickets for Taipei and two for Kaohsiung.” I was truly happy for his family.
Two years ago I met a business owner in Kaohsiung. The first time, she bought three US$110-tickets from me. The following year, when I mentioned to her that Shen Yun was coming again, she wanted three tickets. I asked her whether she had considered buying her employees tickets to encourage their work performances. She said, “I happened to have thought about it. That's a good idea. Please get me ten tickets.”
A younger business owner I met this year wanted me to get him two US$110 tickets. I asked him if his father wanted to go as well, but he said that his father was too busy to go. When he came to get his tickets, I said to him, “My experience tells me that after you see the amazing performance of Shen Yun, you will wish that you had brought your family members with you. You will then want to buy more tickets this year. By then, there might not be any tickets left.” He later told me that his father bought four more tickets for the family.
When we sell Shen Yun tickets to someone, sometimes just a few appropriate words can make the person buy more tickets and save more people. It is a very pleasant process. These business owners buy a certain number of tickets every year as rewards for their employees. One of them buys ten tickets each year for various friends or officials. In his own way he too promotes Shen Yun.
