Ms. Niu Guifang from Shenyang City Severely Beaten by Police

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Niu Guifang was illegally detained by the Branch Public Security Bureau of Shenbei New District in Shenyang City. Recently, during arraignment, Ms. Niu was violently beaten by police from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station and the National Security Brigade of the Shenbei New District. According to a witness, Ms. Niu's painful cries were heard throughout the entire building.

After Ms. Niu and four other practitioners were arrested on July 19, 2012, they were held in the First Detention Center of Shenyang. Ms. Niu and Ms. Qu Lihong were transferred to the Xinchengzi Street Police Station. During arraignment, because Ms. Niu refused to answer any questions, the police beat her violently. Ms. Niu cried out in pain. Afraid of their evil deeds being heard and exposed, the police closed the curtain, sealed her mouth, and continued hitting her.

When Ms. Niu was taken to the Xinchengzi Street Police Station, she asked the police there for help. But these “people's police” pretended not to hear her.

When Ms. Niu was brought back from the police station to the detention center, she was carried. When a police officer from the detention center saw her, he angrily said to the police from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station, “How can you have beaten her so badly?” Ms. Niu's arms were swollen. She was unable to take care of herself for over a month.

Ms. Niu, about 40 years old, lived in Hushitai County, and is recognized as a good person.

Before practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Niu had poor health and a hot temper. She always fought with her husband. After she started practicing Falun Gong, all her diseases disappeared. Her husband said, “I had a bad temper. I always fought with my wife. After she started practicing Falun Gong, she lived by the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. She stopped fighting with me and cursing me. We have a very harmonious relationship now. I allow her to practice Falun Gong.” After Ms. Niu was arrested and her house was robbed by the police, her husband went to the Xinchengzi Street Police Station. The police asked him, “Why don't you care about her practicing Falun Gong?” He said, “My wife's diseases disappeared after she started practicing Falun Gong. Why would I stop her?”

Ms. Niu's mother-in-law was very ill two months before Ms. Niu was arrested. Ms. Niu brought her (from her brother-in-law's house) to live with her so she could take care of her. She sent her back only after she was completely healed. Ms. Niu's mother-in-law praised her, “I have a kindhearted daughter-in-law. When she lived in the village, she was willing to help all the neighbors when they needed it. Whoever persecutes her is committing a sin.”

Ms. Niu moved to Hushitai County several years ago. Since living there, she has always cleaned up the hallways of the residence. All of her neighbors praised her.

Ms. Niu Was Arrested for Hanging Banners and Her House Was Ransacked

On the evening of July 19, 2012, at about 9 p.m., when Ms. Niu Guifang, Ms. Niu Guihua, Ms. Qu Lihong and Ms. Chen Min went to hang truth-clarification banners on Xinchengzi Street, they were arrested by police from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station. On July 20, police from Xinchengzi Street Police Station, Hushitai Police Station, and the National Security Brigade ransacked and robbed the homes of Ms. Niu Guihua, Ms. Qu Lihong, and Ms. Chen Min. Over a dozen police broke into Ms. Niu Guifang's house and took away 12,000 yuan in cash, a desktop computer (worth about 4,000 yuan), a gold ring, two bankbooks, a digital camera, a sewing machine and a large amount of clothing.

On August 22, Ms. Chen Min and Ms. Niu Guihua were sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Niu Guifang and Qu Lihong were arrested. The Shenbei New District 610 Office planned to sentence them to prison.

At present, Ms. Niu Guifang has been held in the First Detention Center of Shenyang for almost six months. Ms. Niu's family demanded her release, but was refused by the detention center. Police from the detention center kept asking her family to send them money. The Public Security Bureau, the Procuratorate, and the Court of Shenbei New District conspired with each other in an attempt to frame Ms. Niu Guifang and Ms. Qu Lihong.
