(Minghui.org) Ms. Lu Xiaowei, 36, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Shaoguo Town in Nong'an County, Jilin Province. During the past 14 years, she has been persecuted for her belief many times and in many ways, including illegal arrest, detention, forced labor, and financial extortion.
Agents from the Nongan County Domestic Security Division and Shaoguo Town Police Station arrested Ms. Lu at home on August 12, 2013. Ms. Lu's entire body was shaking as Domestic Security Division agent Lu Mingxuan carried her to the police van and took her to Fenjin Brainwashing Center at Changchun. Lu Mingxuan lied and said, “We will not let Ms. Lu stay there for long. She will come back after two or three days.”
Ms. Lu was detained for over a month and wasn't released until the brainwashing center was closed on September 17. Officials then sent her to the Wugongli Detention Center without notifying her family.
Family Supports Ms. Lu's Practice
Ms. Lu Xiaowei's family visited her five times at the brainwashing center. They were only allowed to see her through a security camera the first three times instead of meeting face-to-face. Upon seeing that she was in poor physical condition, her family repeatedly told the staff that her life had been saved by practicing Falun Gong, and if she wasn't allowed to practice, it would be equivalent to a death sentence for her.
When Ms. Lu's family went to visit her the fourth time, officials agreed to let her father meet her. They secretly planned to have him help “transform” her. Ms. Lu was very determined and said she would continue practicing Falun Gong. As a result, the officials no longer allowed Ms. Lu's family to meet with her when they visited.
Brainwashing Center Closes, but Ms. Lu Still Detained
Ms. Lu was the only detained practitioner in the brainwashing center on September 17. Although the center was shut down that day, Zhang (Shaoguo Town Police Station deputy head) and Wang Honggang (village security officer) sent Ms. Lu to Nongan County Police Department. When the police asked if she would continue to practice, Ms. Lu said she would, because her life had been saved by Falun Gong. They thus sent her to the Wugongli Detention Center, where she has since been held.
Falun Gong Saved Ms. Lu and Her Elder Sister After Vicious Attack
Ms. Lu Ziwei is Ms. Lu Xiaowei's elder sister. About 17 years ago, when Ms. Lu Ziwei's ex-husband asked for a divorce, she refused. He was furious and attacked the sisters with a butcher knife on November 25, 1996. During the attack he chopped Ms. Lu Ziwei's left thumb in half and stabbed her in the head at least seven times. He stabbed Ms. Lu Xiaowei at least nine times and sliced off a fist-sized area of flesh.
When their family went to the Shaoguo Police Station to seek help, officers made many excuses and did not file the case. The sisters suffered tremendously, both physically and mentally. They had to lie in bed for several months recovering.
The situation did not improve until January 1998, when the sisters began practicing Falun Gong. After the attack, Ms. Lu Ziwei's mouth and head were often in pain, and she also experienced dizziness. Her pain stopped shortly after she began practicing Falun Gong.
Her sister Ms. Lu Xiaowei also recovered from many of her injuries after she began practicing. However her headaches and shoulder pain did not go away. She examined her thoughts and found that she still had complaints and hatred towards her sister's ex-husband. After all, she was still young, and the injury and the big scar left on her forehead greatly impacted her life. Nonetheless, she continued practicing, and gradually improved her moral character and let go of the hatred she held. Both the headache and shoulder pain then disappeared.
That is also why after being detained and mistreated many times during the persecution by the communist regime in China, the two sisters never gave up their beliefs. Deep in their hearts, they know Falun Gong is righteous. Falun Gong saved their lives.
