Three Falun Gong practitioners--Mr. Xiang Guangping, his wife Ms. Liang Zuojuan, and Mr. Ding Xishan, all from Hinggan League in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region--were arrested on August 10, 2013. They are being held in Arxan City Detention Center.
On August 15 when two of the practitioners' parents went to Arxan City Domestic Security Division to ask for the release of their children, Chen Guodong, an official from the Security Division, threatened them, saying, "Do not mess with me."
Arrest Details
Around 3 p.m. on August 10, Mr. Xiang Guangping, Ms. Liang Zuojuan, and Mr. Ding Xishan were reported to the public security border defense police for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at a roundabout in Yiershi Town. Ma Hui, director of the police station, and seven or eight officers in two police vehicles pushed the practitioners into the vehicles. They took them to Arxan City Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Liang's Elderly Mother Devastated
Ms. Liang Zuojuan's mother is 82 years old. She waited for her daughter to return until 8:00 p.m. She did not know that her son-in-law had been arrested, too, and called her other daughters to ask where he was. Around 9:00 p.m. she learned that both of them had been arrested. Her daughter, Ms. Liang, had come home from the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp six months earlier. Now she was arrested again. The old woman suffered a lot and is now very anxious and cannot eat. She had been living with her daughter and now she has to live by herself.
The old woman thought, “My daughter and son-in-law tried hard to be better people after practicing Falun Gong. Falun Dafa is so good, and I even have benefited physically and mentally. They did not do anything bad but were arrested as the bad guys.” So she went to the police station and asked for their unconditional release
Home Ransacked
The police ignored her, but the next day, Chen Guodong and other police officers, plus Arxan City Domestic Security Division personnel, drove Mr. Xiang, Ms. Liang, and her mother to their home and ransacked it. Six or seven officers participated the raid. They took two cell phones, one MP3 player, and other items. The old woman tried to stop them, but Chen Guodong almost pushed her down several times. They turned the house upside down.
Before leaving, Chen Guodong pushed the old woman down on the sofa, took off her shoes, and told the police get out. Before they went downstairs, they blocked the door with a board to prevent the old woman from chasing after them. When they were ready, Chen Guodong sent someone upstairs to remove the board, and then they fled by car.
Mr. Ding's Home Ransacked and His Father Devastated
At 3 p.m. on August 11, Mr. Ding Xishan's home was ransacked. Police officer Li and others searched the entire house. They confiscated two storage cards from two e-book readers. Mr. Ding's father is 76 years old. He lived a hard life with his two sons. They are all honest and kind.
Mr. Ding's father depends on him. Mr. Ding suffered from leg paralysis when he was a child. After he began practicing Falun Gong, people almost could not tell he had a disability. He supports his family and takes care of the household. After he was persecuted, his father could eat due to toothaches. There is now no one to take care of him, and things are very difficult for him.
On August 15, Mr. Ding's father and Ms. Liang's mother, both accompanied by other children, went to Arxan City Domestic Security Division and asked for the release their family members. Chen Guodong sent them away after a few words, warning them, "Do not mess with me."
Chen Guodong's Evil Deeds
Chen Guodong from Arxan City Domestic Security Division has repeatedly persecuted Mr. Xiang Guangping and Ms. Liang Zuojuan.
In 2007 Chen Guodong and Feng Litao told Sun Zhihong from the residential committee to trick the couple into opening the door. Police got into the home and searched it.
Then they took Mr. Xiang to the Domestic Security Division and interrogated him all night. Chen Guodong punched Mr. Xiang Guangping in the chin and loosened his teeth. Mr. Xiang could not eat and later had to have his teeth pulled. Feng Litao hit Mr. Xiang in the face with torture instruments and stuffed lit cigarettes into his mouth. Feng Litao said, "I have followed you for three years."
Mr. Xiang was detained for a month and illegally fined 5,000 yuan.
At 6 a.m. on October 9, 2011, Chen Guodong and 11 other officers broke into Ms. Liang's home and ransacked it. They arrested the couple and took them to Arxan City Police Department.
Mr. Xiang was released in the afternoon. Ms. Liang was sent to Ulanhot City Police Department Detention Center for interrogation.
Her family hired a lawyer for her, but the Political and Legal Affairs Committee commissar, Dong Jixiu, did not allow the lawyer to see her. Chen Guodong threatened to arrest the lawyer.
Ms. Liang was sent to Tumuji Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term after she had been detained at Ulanhot City Detention Center for 20 days.
