(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao Changli is from Changchun City, Jilin Province. On July 21, 2013, police officers arrested her for clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa to others.
Ms. Yao is in her 40s. She was an administrator at the student dormitory of the Logistics Division at Northeast Normal University in Changchun. Because she was enthusiastic, warm, and honest, her coworkers and students thought very highly of her. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Ms. Yao lived under tremendous pressure. The authorities tried to force her many times to turn in her Falun Gong books and pressured her to sign guarantee statements stating that she would renounce Falun Gong.
When Ms. Yao was arrested, her family was also put under enormous stress. Her son is in high school and has no one at home to take care of him. At the time this report was published, it was unknown who had arrested Ms. Yao or where she is being detained.
We ask people in Changchun to pay attention to the persecution of local Falun Gong practitioners. We also ask the university administration to take responsibility and demand that the police department release this fine employee. The persecution of Falun Gong is baseless and illegal. Those who participated in Ms. Yao's illegal arrest are participating in a crime, and university officials are also participating in the crime by maintaining silence about this injustice.
