(Minghui.org) Police department director Li Chao and the 610 Office of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, recently held a city-wide meeting to motivate the police force to persecute Falun Gong practitioners more severely. The city Domestic Security Division has been at the core of the persecution efforts.
Within a few days, numerous Falun Gong practitioners in Chaoyang City were taken into custody, including lactating mothers. The police ransacked the practitioners' homes and carried out arrests without following any legal procedures.
On the morning of September 4, 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shao Jianhui was illegally arrested by Zhang Yajun, director of the Yangzhangzi Town Police Station of Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, and political instructor Zhang Yunbin. Many of his personal belongings were confiscated in the process. Mr. Shao is currently detained in the Yangzhangzi Town Police Station.
On September 5, 2013, officers from the Zhoutaizi Village Police Station of Beigoumen Township ransacked the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiao Guofeng, confiscating Falun Gong books and a portrait of the practice's founder. The next morning, they came back to arrest Ms. Xiao, sending her to the Chaoyang City Detention Center.
On the same day, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Qi Xiuying and Ms. Huan Jingxia from Jianping County, Chaoyang City, were arrested while visiting the home of another practitioner, Ms. Yu Shuqin. The police raided Ms. Yu's home and sent Ms. Qi and Ms. Huan to a detention center.
Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Xin Suying and Ms. Yang Ying (nicknamed Yang Lingling) were arrested by police officers from the Kalaqin Town Police Station of Jianping County, Chaoyang City, the same day. Both are currently held in the Jianping County Detention Center.
On the night of September 6, 2013, seven or eight officers from the Chaoyang County Police Department and Liucheng Police Station raided the homes of Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Li Yuhuan and Ms. Guo Hairong in Dazhangzi Village, Shiertai. They arrested the two practitioners, disregarding the fact that Ms. Guo was in a lactation phase. Ms. Guo's baby cried all night after her arrest.
Ms. Li's father-in-law, in his 70s, had just returned from the hospital and needed Ms. Li to look after him. He is having difficulty caring for himself in her absence.
Both Ms. Li and Ms. Guo are being held in the Chaoyang County Detention Center.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Zhongquan from Nandayingzi Township, Chaoyang County, was arrested by officers from the county police department the same night. The police ransacked his home.
On September 9, 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Chunfen, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Nanta Police Station of Chaoyang City. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books and informational materials, as well as the portrait of the practice's founder.
