Ms. Li Dexiang from Gansu Province Facing Trial

(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Dexiang from Jinchang City in Gansu Province was arrested on August 28, 2013, by officers from the Jinchang Domestic Security Division. They also ransacked her home. Her case was transferred to the Jinchuan District Procuratorate on September 30, 2013.

Ms. Li had many health problems before she practiced Falun Gong, such as asthma, cholecystitis, and mild hemiplegia. Her husband has a mental problem and she also has two sons to take care of.

Life was very hard for Ms. Li, and she practiced many types of qigong, trying to discover the true meaning of life.

After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1995, she finally understood the reasons for the hardships in life and she became healthy. Even her husband's condition improved.

However, over the past decade that Falun Gong has been persecuted, Ms. Li has been arrested and had her home ransacked many times. She was sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor on March 24, 2000. She was sentenced to a five-year prison term on December 16, 2004.

Monitored and Arrested for Practicing Falun Gong

Ms. Li Dexiang was released from prison on August 21, 2007. A few years later, she was followed and arrested on August 28, 2013, when she was meeting with Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Duan Zhihu. Ms. Li's husband was also arrested.

Officers from Longshou Police Department demanded that Ms. Li's husband take them to his home. As soon as they arrived, they started ransacking it. The following day, Ms. Li's husband and her younger son were told to go to the Longshou Police Department.

They were asked for the names of people who visited their home and the owner of the computer in their home. The police also said, “Do you have a printer? We know you have a printer in your home.” In fact, Ms. Li doesn't have a printer.

The police also went to where Ms. Li's older son worked and asked for the names of people that associated with his mother and for her telephone number.

Ms. Li Dexiang's case was handed over to the Jinchuan District Procuratorate on September 30, 2013.

Mr. Duan Zhihu Arrested

Mr. Duan Zhihu was arrested after his meeting with Ms. Li. His case was also turned over to the Jinchuan Procuratorate on September 30, 2013. Mr. Duan's wife was arrested at home on August 28 and released on September 29.
