The Tragic Story of Ms. Liu Xiurong's Family, Subjected to Years of Persecution

(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Xiurong's entire family of six people has suffered relentless persecution by the Chinese regime because they practice Falun Dafa. Her husband, Mr. Tian Fujin, the former section chief and deputy director of Tongliao City Leather Factory, died in detention. Ms. Liu's eldest daughter, Ms. Tian Fang, was sentenced twice to a total of nine years in prison. The second daughter, Ms. Tian Xin, was sentenced twice to a forced labor camp. The third daughter, Ms. Tian Miao was sentenced to a six-year term, and her son, Mr. Tian Shuangjiang, was sentenced to a three-year term. Ms. Liu was sentenced twice, for a total of six years. She was recently arrested again and her family has been told that hiring an attorney is of no use.

Recent Arrests

Ms. Liu Xiurong, 63, and fellow practitioner Ms. Zhang Ping were illegally arrested on August 23 and 22, 2013, respectively. Officer Wang Bo from the Tongliao City Domestic Security Division, notified their families in writing on September 27 that the Procuratorate had sent out a warrant for their arrest.

Ms. Hou Yunxia, who was arrested alongside Ms. Zhang, was released on September 27 due to insufficient evidence, although officers from the Domestic Security Division had also requested a warrant for her arrest from the Procuratorate.

Ms. Liu was reported and arrested on August 23, 2013 when she was posting stickers with the message “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good.” Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhang and Ms. Hou were arrested on August 22, 2013 when they were distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Ms. Zhang's home was ransacked. All three practitioners were detained at the Hexi Detention Center.

At the beginning of this year, officers Wang Bo and Xu Jing extorted money from Ms. Zhang when she was distributing calendars. They confiscated many of her personal belongings when they ransacked her home this time.

“It is no use to hire lawyers”

It just took 35 days for the Ke District Procuratorate of Tongliao City to issue warrants for the arrest of Ms. Liu and Ms. Zhang. The practitioners were held in detention this entire time.

Their families hired Beijing lawyers to defend them; however, Wang Bo and Xu Jing told them, “It is no use to hire lawyers.”

Experiencing the Benefits of Falun Dafa

Ms. Liu Xiurong had been in poor health since childhood, suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, nervous headache, cardiac arrest, enteritis, and other illnesses. She was dependent on medicines for years. She had tried all kinds of treatments, including Chinese, Western and Mongolian treatments. Yet, she never found relief from her illnesses.

She began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998, and as soon as she started the practice, her entire body achieved a wonderful state of relaxation. She returned to good health.

The Persecution of the Liu Family

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Liu’s family were continuously persecuted by the local 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, Police Department, Police Station, Sub-District Office, and Residential Committee.

Officers from Tongliao City arrested a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners on June 5, 2008, claiming that it was related to security for the upcoming Olympics. Li Fengqin, director of the local Residential Committee, told Ms. Liu by phone that there was a job for her eldest daughter. Ms. Liu's husband, Mr. Tian Fujin went downstairs to wait for her and has not returned since.

Within an hour after Mr. Tian had left, someone knocked at Ms. Liu’s door. After opening the door, several dozen police officers pushed their way into the home and arrested her and her daughter Ms. Tian Fang.

Ms. Liu was sentenced to a four-year prison term at the end of 2008; Mr. Tian Fujin and Ms. Tian Fang were sentenced to three-year and five-year prison terms respectively.

Ms. Liu and her daughter were taken to the Hohhot City Women's Prison on January 14, 2009. Mr. Tian Fujin was taken to Baoanzhao Prison and persecuted to death on December 14, 2009.

The total prison and labor camp terms for all of Ms. Liu’s family members total approximately 30 years. The family, once prosperous, is now bankrupt, having lost their entire life savings due to the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members. In addition, Ms. Liu's pension is being still withheld.

The Domestic Security Division has again arrested her.
