Additional Persecution News from China – September 13, 2013 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in seventeen cities or counties in nine provinces. In the report, nineteen Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least twenty-seven practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Ye Baofu Family Sentenced

A number of policemen broke into the home of Mr. Ye Baofu, the former vice president of Kunming City Forestry Center Hospital, on May 4, 2012 and arrested him, his wife Ms. Yang Mingqing and daughter Ms. Ye Mao. They confiscated a large number of personal belongings and cash. The family was held in the Wuhua Detention Center.

Kunming Intermediate People's Court tried the family on January 21, 2013 and sentenced Mr. Ye Baofu to six years, Ms. Yang Mingqing and Ms. Ye Mao to four years in prison.

2. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Defu Tortured at Xihu Prison in Benxi

Mr. Liu Defu of Shenyang has been subjected to brainwashing since June 2013, when he was taken to the Elderly and Disabled Team of the Infrastructure Division in Xihu Prison. As a result, he developed symptoms of high blood pressure and cerebral vascular blockage.

3. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Xiuhai and Five Other practitioners Arrested

Agents from Dezhou City 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, Hubinbeilu Police Station and Chezhan Police Station arrested Ms. Xu Shiying, Ms. Cheng Bi, Ms. Liu Yuxiu, Ms. Luo, Mr. Sun Xiuhai and Ms. Guo on September 7, 2013. The homes of Ms. Xu Shiying and Ms. Liu Yuxiu were ransacked. Six practitioners are being detained in the Dezhou City Detention Center.

4. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Mingxia Tortured in Jinan Women's Prison

Ms. Gao Mingxia from Licang District in Qingdao was arrested on the evening of July 12, 2010. She was held at the Dashan No. 3 Detention Center in Qingdao City. Licang District Procuratorate sentenced her to five years in prison in August, 2010. She was sent to the Jinan Women's Prison on October 12, 2011.

Ms. Gao adheres to her beliefs and refuses to be “transformed.” She has thus suffered brutal torture from guards. She was often deprived of sleep and restricted in freedom of action. Guards also force-fed her with unidentified drugs, which caused her entire body to swell.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Cuihuan and Ms. Liu Guilan Arrested

Ms. Hu Cuihuan and Ms. Liu Guilan from Hulan District, Harbin City were arrested by officers from the Xinmin Police Station in Hulan District on September 11, 2013, for handing out informational discs about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Hulan District Detention Center.

6. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Jiang Shuli Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Officers, including captain Liu Yuejin from the Kaifeng Domestic Security Division, broke into Ms. Jiang Shuli's home and arrested her on September 8, 2012. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Kaifeng City Detention Center and held there for nearly a year. Ms. Jiang was secretly sentenced to five years in prison on August 2013, and no notice was given to her family. She was sent to Xinxiang Women's Prison.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yuan Jinfeng Arrested

Mr. Yuan Jinfeng from the Fifth Street, Wei County, Zhangjiakou City was arrested at home by the director and other officers from the Songjiazhuang Police Station on the evening of August 2, 2013. His Falun Gong books and cell phones were confiscated. Mr. Yuan was taken to the Songjiazhuang Detention Center and held there for a day and a night before being released.

8. [Boli County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yumei Arrested

Ms. Liu Yumei, a teacher at the Boli County Vocational High School, was arrested on the morning of September 11, 2013. She is being held in the Liulu Brainwashing Center in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Jian Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

Mr. Wang Jian from Dalian was arrested on July 6, 2012 and later sentenced to seven years in prison by Shahekou District Court of Dalian City, Liaoning Province. He is being held in the Dalian Detention Center.

10. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Seven Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Meng Qiaolai, Ms. Fang Xiuzhen, Ms. Wang Yuzhen, Ms. Zhang Yanhui, Ms. Du Shengxi, Ms. Lian Dongmei and Ms. Li Yafeng were arrested on September 9, 2013 at Ms. Meng Qiaolai's home in Wenya Residential Area, Jinshui District, Zhengzhou City. Her home was also ransacked. The seven practitioners are being detained at Miaoli Police District, Dongfenglu Police Department.

Police confiscated two laser printers, four color printers, a cutting machine (model no. 858), 2000 truth-clarification brochures, around 500 Falun Dafa books, three laptops and so on.

11. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Xifeng Detained

Mr. Liu Xifeng, a teacher from Nantou High School in Shenzhen City, had to move from place to pace in order to avoid arrest. He is being held at the Xili Brainwashing Center in Shenzhen City.

12. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Liu Jingyuan and Three Others Held in Detention Center

Four Taiyuan practitioners including Mr. Liu Jingyuan, Ms. Zhao Yunxia,and Ms. Liu Fengling went to the countryside to explain the facts about Falun Gong to the public on September 5, 2013. They were arrested by police from Yangqu County Police Department and their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Taiyuan No. 1 Detention Center.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Zhiyan Arrested

Ms. Zhao Zhiyan from Beichen District, Tianjin was arrested on the morning of September 12, 2013, and sent to the Beichen Detention Center.

14. [Shanghai] Mr. Shen Mingkang Arrested

Mr. Shen Mingkang from Pudong in Shanghai was followed and arrested by community security when he distributed truth-clarification material at the end of August 2013.

15. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Hongmei and Mr. Sun Fengjun Arrested

Police from Huogezhuang Police Station in Baodi District, Tianjin arrived at a company owned by Ms. Zhang Hongmei and her family at around 8:00 a.m. on September 11, 2013. They arrested Ms. Zhang Hongmei and Mr. Sun Fengjun. They took away a car, mainframe computers, laptops, laser printers, Dafa books and other items.

16. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Yingjie Secretly Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Guo Yingjie from Jilin was secretly sentenced to five years in prison and has been sent to the Heizuizi Women's Prison.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xie Lijuan, Ms. Han Fenghua and Ms. Fei Guiling Still Held in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp

18. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Ruixiang and Three Others Detained in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhu Ruixiang, Ms. Liu Hui from Linshu County, Ms. Gui Ling from Yishui County and Ms. Chu Qingfang from Linyi City are still being held in the Linyi City Brainwashing Center.
