(Minghui.org) Under orders from the Hunan Province 610 Office, the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City began a new brainwashing session on September 1, 2013. As far as we know at least three practitioners--Mr. Yi Hexi, Ms. Deng Qinghui and Ms. Peng Liang--are detained there.

Mr. Yi Hexi is 73 years old. On August 20 and 21, he was twice tricked into going to a hotel in the Yuelu District. The Changsha City 610 Office invited him there for a “guest meal.” The old man went there to clarify the truth and talked about the importance of withdrawing from the communist party. He went home afterwards. On August 31 when the Community Office asked him to go to a hotel close to the Yuelu District Government to attend a meeting, he found it suspicious and didn't go. On September 1, Mr. Yi was arrested at home.

Ms. Deng Qinghui lives in Wuyidong Village. On the afternoon of September 1, four people came to her home to try to take her away, but she didn't open the door. Then, about 20 more people from the City 610 Office, Chaoyang Police Station, and Community Office came. Ms. Deng still refused to open the door. On September 2, again over 20 hooligans, led by 610 Office officers, arrested Ms. Deng.

Ms. Peng Liang, over 40, is from Ningxiang County. She was arrested at home after 6:00 a.m. on September 2 by more than 10 people from the County 610 Office, State Security Bureau, and Community Office.

Arrested practitioners are usually jailed on the third floor of the brainwashing center building, with three people in each room: one practitioner and two “monitors” assigned by the Community Office or 610 Office.

In September 2012, practitioner Ms. Jiang Meilan from Xintian County, Yongzhou City, was sent to this brainwashing center. After only 23 days, she was persecuted to death.

The Changsha City Brainwashing Center Is Well-prepared

Around August 16, many practitioners in Changsha City were harassed by people from the Neighborhood Offices and 610 Offices, who came to their homes demanding that they attend a “study session.” Practitioners and their family members refused, since there was no legal basis for their presence or reason for them to attend. Organized and coordinated by the provincial and municipal 610 Offices, the brainwashing session that had long been prepared for began this September.

The Laodaohe Brainwashing Center was established by the Hunan Province 610 Office in 2002 at a huge cost. It has detained nearly 1000 practitioners across Hunan Province.

Main Torture Methods

1. Practitioners are forced to watch videos and read books that slander Falun Gong and its founder. They are pressured to write the Three Statements and to curse Falun Gong and its founder.

2. If this fails, physical torture begins. For example, practitioner Ms. Jiang Shanglian from Ningxiang County was confined in a solitary cell and beaten.

In July 2010, practitioner Mr. Cai Zhixiong from Yongxing County was held in the Changsha brainwashing center for one month, during which time he was repeatedly abused by the “monitors.” They choked him, whipped him, stabbed him in the face and body with thin bamboo strips, burned his jaw with a cigarette lighter, painted his eyelids and sprayed his eyes with safflower oil, made him stand, denied him food and water, and deprived him of sleep.

3. Practitioners are cut off from the outside world and their their families. With the exception of those family members who listen to the lies and come to help “transform” practitioners, none of their relatives are allowed to visit them.

4. Resolute practitioners are sent to labor camps or mental hospitals for further persecution

5. Former practitioners and those who've enlightened along an evil path are used to interfere with practitioners. Others who betrayed their belief under pressure participate in brainwashing practitioners.

The 610 Office Continues to Do Evil

In September 2012, before the 18^th Party Congress, the Hunan Province 610 Office launched a special session of brainwashing at the Laodaohe site. They arrested dozens of Falun Gong practitioners around the province and sent them to Changsha. Ms. Jiang Meilan from Xintian County, 65 years old at that time, was one of the detainees. Only 23 days after being arrested, she died as a result of the persecution. Her body was covered with injuries.

The Hunan Province 610 Office is colluding with the Changsha City 610 Office, and has begun a new brainwashing session at the Laodaohe site, targeting the rest of the practitioners in the province.
