(Minghui.org) Zheng Qinghai and Zhang Ming, former guards in Jiamusi Prison, were arrested by 610 Office agents on September 25, 2013, for allegedly passing information to Falun Gong practitioners. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Practitioners Shang Xiping from Huanan County, and Meng Xianguo from Boqing County, who were detained in Jiamusi Prison, were taken away on October 12, 2013 at 5:00 a.m.. Their whereabouts are also unknown.
According to sources, the arrest and detainment of the above individuals was ordered by the Heilongjiang Provincial 610 Office and prison administration. The purpose was to track down those within the prison who were involved in exposing the severity of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners on the Internet.
Lu Yunqiang, warden of Jiamusi Prison, said in a meeting with the chiefs and captains of the prison, “Guards Zheng Qinghai and Zhang Ming were involved in providing information to Falun Gong practitioners. Although the prison has tried to safeguard their civil-service positions, it seems it is impossible to do it now. If any of you have accepted money from prisoners, you must quickly return it to them.”
After the news of practitioners Qin Yueming, Yu Yungang, and Liu Chuanjiang who were persecuted to death by Jiamusi Prison, was exposed online in February 2011, the incident attracted the attention of people and organizations around the world.
After the death of practitioner Qin Yueming, her family hired attorneys to appeal to the Hejiang Procuratorate in Jiamusi, the provincial higher court, and the supreme court. The cases involving practitioners Lin Zehua and Zhang Puhe, who were persecuted and became disabled, then started to surface. Their families had hired lawyers to sue the perpetrators.
Because of this exposure, the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners gradually became visible to the world's people. This has caused great fear and panic within in the Chinese communist organs and its related officials who have participated in the persecution. Out of fear, the police have tried to monitor the phones of households in Jiamusi, including prison guards, and follow those suspected of exposing the facts.
The Jiamusi Prison underwent an internal “rectification” to clear the so-called “dangerous contraband,” from May 23 to June 23, 2013. The armed police randomly searched those who entered the prison. One day, a prison guard got angry due to the search, and told the armed police, “Don't touch me. I will take off my clothes.”
Today, electronic products such as mp3 and mp4 players, as well as radios are legitimate products. However, in order to block and cover the truth, the prison authorities deemed these items as dangerous contraband. If one was found carrying these products, he was taken to a cell immediately. If a practitioner was found carrying Falun Dafa books, materials, or electronic devices, he was beaten ruthlessly.
The beating practitioner Meng Xianguo was exposed on the Minghui website on June 10. Yu Chunliang, a captain of the second brigade in the eighth supervision unit who was responsible, was furious when he found out. On June 15, Yu ordered an inmate to search Mr. Meng's blanket and bed and confiscate his Falun Dafa scriptures, e-books, and audio player.
On June 16, at noon, in the hallway of the water room, Yu violently punched Mr. Meng six times for doing the Falun Gong exercises. Mr. Meng warned him that he would receive retribution for his wrongdoings. That day, Yu's feet became crippled. He can no longer work and now stays at home.
Video footage of a fight between inmates in a juvenile correction center was also exposed online. The Heilongjiang Provincial Prison Administration was very shocked by this. As a result, they have launched an investigation within the province to find out who was responsible for it.
