(Minghui.org) A total of 14 Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested on November 2, 2013 at Mr. Li Kun's home by approximately thirty officers from the Maogang District 610 Office and police department, as well as the Poxin Town District Office, 610 Office, and police station. Zheng Guocai, director of the District Office of Poxin Town, and Lai Biao, director of the 610 Office of Poxin Town, were also part of the contingent of officers. The arrested practitioners were taken to the Xiaoliang Town Addiction Treatment Center of Maoming City, Maogang District.
Most of the practitioners were elderly people, with the exception of one young woman. They include Ms. Liang Guifang (Mr. Li Kun's wife), Ms. Lingxiu, Ms. Ruilian, Ms. Xuemei, Ms. Shuying, Ms. Liang Qiuyuen, Ms. Ruifang, Ms. Li Jinxiu, Ms. Xiuzhen, the young woman, Mr. Li Hanxin and his wife Ms. Huirong, and two other unnamed women.
Officers confiscated a few boxes of Dafa books, calendars, truth-clarification materials, a satellite receiver, and approximately 1,000 yuan in currency with written messages about renouncing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates on them.
Eight were released the next day. Ms. Lingxiu, Ms. Xuemei, Ms. Liang Qiuyuan, and Ms. Huazhen were taken to the Maoming Brainwashing Center. Ms. Cheng Shuiyu was transferred to Dianbaishuidong Town. Ms. Liang Guifang was illegally detained at the Maoming No. 1 Detention Center.
Police Act Like Bandits
Approximately thirty officers surrounded Mr. Li Kun's home at noon on November 2, 2013. It was the day of the country fair of Poxin Town, and officers were reluctant to take action because many people were on the streets. Some practitioners left Mr. Li's home at around noon.
Mr. Li's wife Ms. Liang returned home from working in the field at around 12:45. She was identified by Zheng Guocai and Lai Biao, and officers waiting outside immediately surrounded her home.
Ms. Liang knew that officers were following her and had tried to break into her home. She told all the practitioners in her home to leave as soon as possible. However, officers had blocked all exits prior to breaking into the home.
Officers ransacked Mr. Li's home, including the chests and boxes belonging to his 86-year-old mother Ms. Yang Meiqiong. They even intended to confiscate approximately 30 yuan in cash. She chastised them for trying to steal her personal savings, so they returned the money.
Ms. Yang continued to tell them, “Falun Dafa teaches people to be good, and if everyone practiced Falun Gong there would be no need to lock doors because everyone would behave themselves. You can check existing laws and regulations if there is anything written that prohibits Falun Gong. If there is not, you are not allowed to confiscate anything from my place."
The officers did not answer, and continued ransacking the place. They confiscated a few boxes of Falun Dafa books, calendars, truth-clarification materials, a satellite receiver, and approximately 1,000 yuan in currency that had messages about renouncing membership in the CCP written on them. They took pictures of what they confiscated.
Officers arrested all fourteen practitioners at around 2:50 p.m. and took them to the Xiaoliang Town Addiction Treatment Center.
Police officers acted like bandits while arresting the practitioners, and even ransacked Mr. Li's home during the daytime.
Mr. Li Kun and his son Li Xinhua, 18, a high school student, were arrested in January 2002. Mr. Li Kun was sentenced to a 14-year prison term, and Mr. Li Xinhua was sentenced to a five-year prison term. Mr. Li Kun is still being held at the Guangdong Sihui Prison.
