(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Yanping Detained
Ms. Xu Yanping was arrested by officers from the Qiaokou Police Department on October 11, 2013. She is being held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Xu Suying Not Released After Detention Term Expired
Ms. Xu Suying of Changsha Town, Kai County, was arrested by officers from the Yuexi Town Police Station on October 2, 2013. She was taken to the Kai County Detention Center the next day. Her detention term was supposed to expire on October 18, but she was not released.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Shunhua Arrested
Ms. Wu Shunhua was arrested on October 18, 2013.
4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xuchun Detained
Ms. Wang Xuchun was arrested at her friend's home, where she was doing housekeeping, on the morning of October 9, 2013. Fan Hongkai, captain of the Yushu City Domestic Security Division, led more than a dozen police officers to carry out the arrest. Ms. Wang was incarcerated in a detention center for 10 days; she was released on October 19.
5. [Guanghan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Su Shihui and Her Mother Arrested
Ms. Su Shihui and her mother were arrested near Guangyouyuan while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her mother was released at 1 a.m. next day. Ms. Su's whereabouts are unknown.
6. [Chongqing City] Four Practitioners Arrested
Many police entered the homes of Ms. Zhao Shifang and Mr. Zhou Changsheng in Longxi Town, Yubei District, early in the morning on October 16, 2013. They arrested the two practitioners and ransacked their homes. Mr. Zhou Yongkun and another practitioner were also arrested.
7. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] At Least 8 Falun Gong Practitioners Imprisoned
As of October 2013, at least 8 Falun Gong practitioners are still incarcerated in local prisons. They are: -Ms. Zhang Rongjuan, about 46, from Changshan Village, Chengguan Town, Zhenyuan County, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2002. -Mr. Xu Feng, about 48, former staff member of Qingcheng County Telecommunications, was sentenced to 14.5 years in prison in 2002. -Mr. Li Chaoyang, 43, a physician from Miaohua Village, Zhuobao Village, Xiaozui Township, Heshui County, was sentenced to 8 years in prison. -Ms. Li Caiyun, 46, lived in the dormitory of Heshui County Financial Bureau, was sentenced to 8 years in prison, currently incarcerated in Lanzhou Women's Prison. -Mr. Kou Ping, about 45, from Huanxian County, was sentenced to 4 years in prison. -Mr. Zhang Zhijie, 35, former teacher of Hejiapan High School in Heshui County, was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. -Mr. Kou Chuangjin, 59, from Xifeng District, was sentenced to 3 years in prison. -Mr. Wei Suichong, was sentenced to 3 years in prison in August 2013.
8. [Bozhou, Anhui Province] 14 Falun Gong Practitioners Held in Bozhou Detention Center
The following 14 Falun Gong practitioners are being held in the Bozhou Detention Center: Ms. Zhang Sumei and her husband, Mr. Wang Shunli, Ms. Tong Fengying, Ms. Jia Hongjuan, Mr. Cui Yong, Mr. Li Haifeng, Mr. Zhu Hui, Ms. Li Dongmei, Mr. Fu Mingyi, Ms. Bai Jie, Ms. Li Limei, Ms. Wang Junzhi, and Ms. Wang Ling.
9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Kaili in Critical Condition Due to Torture
Mr. Lu Kaili is in critical condition as a result of being tortured in Jinzhou Prison. He previously suffered lower limb paralysis and urinary incontinence due to torture; three people took turns to care for him. Now he has developed uremic symptoms, and his legs are badly swollen. The prison refuses to release him.
10. [Xuancheng City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Wenzhu and Ms. Cheng Xiaoan Arrested
Ms. Zhang Wenzhu and Ms. Cheng Xiaoan were arrested by police from the Xuancheng City Domestic Security Division on May 28, 2013. Ms. Cheng, in her 70s, was released on bail for health reasons. Ms. Zhang has been incarcerated in a detention center.
