(Minghui.org) I am 62 years old and I have been practicing Falun Dafa since 1995. Just a month after I began cultivating, all five ailments that had been bothering me for years disappeared without a trace. Thanks to Master’s protection, I also survived three car accidents with only minimal injuries. Though I never fought for fame and self-interest, within five years I was recognized nine times for my outstanding performance at work. Moreover, my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson were blessed over and over because of my Dafa cultivation.
I am deeply indebted to Master. Below I share my stories as a token of appreciation to Master for His immense grace.
Five Chronic Health Problems Disappear in Just One Month
I suffered from poor health from the time I was young so I was very into exercising. I ran marathons and practiced martial arts. I also took cold showers all year long for more than two decades. I even tried several schools of qigong and treated other people’s illnesses for a few years. Unfortunately the qigong practices resulted in more headaches for me.
Not only did I not get healthier, but I was plagued with more serious symptoms. I ended up suffering from five chronic problems, including migraine, chronic hepatitis, cholecystitis, chronic pharyngitis, and a slipped disc.
When I ran into an old friend in late July 1995, he advised that I read Zhuan Falun and I agreed. I borrowed a copy of the book from him that day and began reading it that night. I finished the entire book in three nights and knew it was what I had been looking for. The book answered many questions I had had since I was young, and I vowed to practice Dafa wholeheartedly. With that one thought, a warm current rushed through my whole body. I began a new chapter of my life.
In the days that followed, I joined group exercises every morning and read Zhuan Falun by myself every night. Before I knew it, one month had passed and I felt unusually good.
When I told my wife I was illness-free, she was very skeptical and challenged me to go shopping with her the next day. As a matter of fact, I hadn’t gone shopping for two years since my slipped disc caused me so much pain that walking was torturous.
The next day I walked around with my wife for more than four hours on our shopping trip, and I didn’t hurt at all. She no longer had any doubts and I was thrilled the five health problems that had bothered me for so long went away without a trace.
I have been illness-free ever since. I used to have very dark skin but my complexion became fairer after my cultivation and I also look much younger than my age.
I Won Nine Awards in Five Years
After I began my cultivation, I set strict requirements for myself and always kept in mind Master’s teachings: “Practitioners should not seek fame or profit, but merit and virtue.” (Appendix III, "The Standards for Falun Dafa Assistants," The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection)
I stopped attending the annual fishing activities my employer had sponsored since 1996. I knew as a cultivator I was prohibited from killing or taking advantage of others. As a result, I lost the more than 400 yuan in fishing allowances my employer doled out to employees every year.
My employer also gave each employee 200-600 yuan as a bonus at each major holiday, which I refused to take. My colleagues collected over 2,000 yuan more than me in this regard, although I was the one with the best work performance. However, I didn’t feel a thing because I knew as a practitioner I should not seek fame or profit.
Whenever awards seasons came along, my colleagues all agreed I was the best employee and should get the honor. I often had to make an effort to get out of it, but still everyone thought I deserved the highest honor. In the five years since I began cultivation, I was given nine awards, more than the total of eight awards I received in the preceding 26 years.
In particular, I was voted “Worker of the Year” in October 1999 even though my employer knew I was a practitioner. Despite the pressure of the persecution, 79 out of 82 people voted for me.
I Survived Three Car Accidents
From 1999 to 2006, I was involved in three car accidents, but thanks to Master’s protection, I survived without any major injuries.
The first accident happened late in the afternoon on November 17, 1999. I was pushing my bike across the road when a metro bus suddenly showed up and knocked me over. I flew about two meters away and my bike ended up under the bus. My first thought was, “I am a practitioner and I’ll be fine.” When I got up, I was indeed fine, with only scrapes on my shins. I knew that Master suffered for me.
The second accident took place close to noon on October 25, 2004. I was crossing the road to catch the bus on the other side. When I was in the middle of the crosswalk, a sedan suddenly came out of nowhere and hit me right on the legs. I was tossed up a meter high and then slammed on the cement ground. The right side of my face really hurt, but I remembered “Good or evil comes from that instant thought.” (Zhuan Falun) and knew I’d be fine.
When I pulled myself up, I saw three people getting out of their car to check on me. I told them I was fine, but they didn’t dare to leave right away. When I walked about ten meters away, they got in their car and drove off. Then a miracle happened. My body suddenly became weightless, and I felt like I was floating in the air, as if my feet weren't touching the ground. I levitated like that for about 80 meters, until I reached the bus stop and took the bus home.
The right side of my face hurt for several days, but my body remained weightless for the same amount of time. I knew Master helped me settle another debt and endured everything for me.
The third time was in early April 2006. I was riding my bike home and got to an intersection. A garbage truck made a sharp turn and clipped the left side of my handlebars. I was knocked over, and my bike was dragged about seven meters before it fell. The truck didn’t stop for another 30 meters. Two people got out of the truck to check on me. I said to them, “You drove so fast. I am a cultivator so I’m fine, otherwise it’d be hard to imagine the consequences. I’m not going to trouble you, but just remember 'Falun Dafa is good.' They thanked me before driving away.
My Whole Family Benefits from My Dafa Cultivation
In May 2008 my daughter and son-in-law complained to me that one of their employees had taken over their newly-opened store. They said, “We didn’t sign a contract when we asked him to renovate the storefront and buy merchandise for us. We asked him to watch the store for us for a few months and now he insists the store is his. What should we do? We invested nearly 30,000 yuan in rent, renovations and merchandise.”
I knew immediately this incident targeted me. I said, “If you want my opinion, I’d say this is a good thing. One possibility is that you owed him in your previous life and now you are repaying him. The second possibility is that he is indeed morally corrupt and, due to his greed, he took advantage of your failure to sign a contract. He did a really bad thing and he'll have to give you a lot of virtue. The more virtue you have, the more fortune you’re going to accumulate. Don’t bother to fight with him.”
My daughter and son-in-law took my advice and didn’t fight with that employee. Instead, they focused on their other store. To their surprise, they made more than 20,000 yuan in profit two months in a row. They usually only made 5,000 yuan a month at that store.
In the meantime, the employee who took over their store ran away after three months of punishing losses.
My grandson grew up listening to me sing “Falun Dafa is good.” When he was four and half years old in 2009, his arms suddenly hurt so much that he couldn’t move them. At night when my daughter asked him to sleep in her room, he insisted on staying with me instead. I knew he wanted to listen to the Fa. I said to him, “Lie down and get comfortable. I'll read Dafa to you, all right?” He nodded, and I read the section “Transformation of Karma” to him. In less than 10 minutes, even before I finished, he suddenly said loudly, “Grandpa, my arms don't hurt anymore.” I reminded him it was Dafa’s power and encouraged him to study the Fa more. He agreed.
There were two other times when he had high fever but recovered by just reading Dafa books, without taking any medicine.
I Am Forever Indebted to Master
Master purified my body just one month into my cultivation and also protected me and my family at all times. When the Chinese government started persecuting Dafa and defaming Master, how could I remain silent?
I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, but was arrested and detained for four and half months.
When there is no formal channel to voice our concerns, we can only distribute flyers and clarify the facts.
Master said,
“Each life, each person, is not simple. Behind them is a massive group of beings in the cosmos that they represent. When one person gains salvation, that represents all of the beings behind him gaining salvation in the future. [I say this] because the vast majority of the people on this earth, of today’s people, are heavenly kings who descended to earth, who incarnated here as human beings.” ("What is a Dafa Disciple")
“What’s to be done if, because of you, the countless sentient beings who are behind any person and awaiting salvation can never be saved? Do you realize how serious the consequences of this are?” ("What Does it Mean to 'Help Master Rectify the Fa'?")
When we appeal to the government and clarify the facts to people using different methods, we are clearing the lies in their minds. There is nothing wrong with using our own money and time to save people.
I am forever indebted to Master. There is no way I can fully repay Master. The best I can do is work harder to save even more people.
