(Minghui.org) At Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison, Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to brutal mental and physical tortures in order to force them to renounce their belief.
One of the most common tortures is to force practitioners to sit on a small stool for days. While sitting on the stool, they were forced to watch videos defaming Falun Gong. If they refused to “transform,” they were deprived of sleep.
Torture Reenactment: “Sitting on a small stool”
The practitioners were forced to wear prison uniforms. If they refused, the word “prisoner” was painted on all of their clothes.
Ms. Li Wenjun Chained to the Floor in Solitary Confinement
Ms. Li Wenjun, 64, a Chinese teacher, was sentenced to prison for five years. She was taken to the Heilongjiang Women’s Prison on November 7, 2012. Because she refused to wear the prison uniform and watch the slanderous videos, the guards tied her to an iron bed for six days straight. She was forced-fed and not allowed to use the restroom.
Ordered by the guards, inmates took turns beating and verbally insulting her. Inmate Ren Wenxin beat her and kicked her. She punched Ms. Li's eyes and hit her in the face and head. Inmate Chen Xuehui used a broom to beat her eyes and nose.
To protest the beatings, Ms. Li went on a hunger strike for more than a month. She was put into a solitary confinement cell for 15 days and chained to the floor. Although it was March, it was still very cold. Because there was no heat in the cell, the inmate locked in the same cell cried.
Ms. Li had to be sent to the prison hospital as a result of the abuse.
Ms. Li Yaoguang's Hands Turned Black
Ms. Li Yaoguang is a practitioner from Qiqihar City. She has been persecuted at the prison since 2012. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution and forced labor.
The inmates kept beating and verbally abusing her until 2 a.m. Her miserable screams were heart-breaking. The prison guards then taped her mouth shut to silence her.
She was handcuffed every day and persecuted with other torture instruments by prison guard Guo Jia. Her hands turned black due to lack of blood circulation caused by the torture.
Ms. Tan Guiying Disabled
Ms. Tan was sentenced to prison for six years simply because she talked to the villagers about the persecuiton of Falun Gong. She was taken the Heilongjiang Women's Prison on February 27, 2013.
She refused to wear the prison uniform and thus was beaten by a male prison guard. She was beaten so hard her eyes bled.
Guards instructed the inmates to “transform” her through torture: they handcuffed her hands to the head of the bed, tied her body to the bed, and then put a laundry washboard under her lower legs. Her mouth was stuffed with underwear and then taped shut. She was kept restrained like this and deprived of sleep for two days. The inmates tried to force her to slander Falun Gong, but she refused. The inmates kept Ms. Tan in this position until her arms became disabled.
However, she was then forced to sit on a small stool for more than a month, every day from 5 a.m. until 12 a.m.
Ms. Tan also had to be sent to the hospital because of the brutal torture.
In addition, practitioner Ms. Li Shuqin was hung up for ten days and Ms. Guo Yaru had to sit on a small stool for half a month.
