Additional Persecution News from China – January 8, 2013 (6 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 4 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Meng and Other Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Six Falun Gong practitioners from Shijiazhuang went to Nanzhuang Village, Dachehang Township, Luquan on the afternoon of December 23, 2012, to distribute Falun Gong materials. Police officers took them to the Shangzhuang Police Station. The next afternoon, the six practitioners were transferred to the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Center. The practitioners included Mr. Wang Hao, Mr. Song Meng, Ms. Xi Ping, Ms. Xi Yanjun, Ms. Dong Xinying, and Ms. Xi Lili. Ms. Xi Lili was a teacher at Xili Elementary School, and had been released from the Women's Prison last August.

2. [Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gang Fengqing Arrested

A group of approximately ten officers from the Bukui Police Station in Qiqihar arrested Mr. Gang Fengqing on the morning of January 6, 2013. He is being detained in the Qiqihar Detention Center.

3. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Guohua Sentenced

Mr. Li Guohua was sentenced to three years in prison in late November 2012 by the Wuchang District Court in Wuhan.

4. [Hengshui, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Ruifeng Taken to the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center on January 5, 2012

5. [Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Liyu Arrested

Officers from the 610 Office took Ms. Huang Liyu into custody when she was walking down the street in early November 2012. She is being detained in the brainwashing center, and is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

6. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about Ms. Tang Yaqi and Other Practitioners

Ms. Tang Yaqi, Ms. Kuang Jie, and Ms. Chu were arrested by officers from the Xinghua Police Station in Tiexi District. Both Ms. Kuang and Ms. Chu have been released, however Ms. Tang is being detained in the Zhaohua Detention Center.
