(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in seven cities or counties in five provinces. In the report, six Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least five practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Ailian Persecuted
Ms. Zhang Ailian from Baoji City, has been held in the Jintai District No.2 Detention Center in Baoji City since her arrest on November 23, 2012. Recently, she has developed symptoms of uncontrolled spasms and high blood pressure. However, the authorities still refused to release her.
Ms. Zhang Ailian is Mr. Zhang Baowang's younger sister. Baowang retired from the Wuyi Paper Factory in Baoji City. Because of his perseverance in practicing Falun Gong, he was persecuted to death in the Zhuangli Prison in Fuping County on December 5, 2004.

2. [Hui County, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhe Jingdong Detained
Mr. Zhe Jingdong, an employee of the Hui County Local Tax Bureau, was arrested at work on January 21, 2013, by officers from the Hui County Police Department and the Chengguan Police Station. He was taken directly to the Hui County Detention Center.
Mr. Zhe was arrested earlier by officers from the Hui County Police Department on April 27, 2012. He was held in the detention center of the Hui County Police Department for 20 days, during which time inmates and guards beat him, causing him to suffer from incontinence, constipation, unbearable pain in his ribs, swelling and big pustules on his ankles and wrists.
3. [Hui County, Gansu Province] Mr. Lu Xuelin Detained
Mr. Lu Xuelin from Hui County was arrested at home on January 22, 2013, by officers who climbed over the exterior wall and broke into his home. Mr. Lu is being held in the Hui County Detention Center.
Earlier on April 27, 2012, a group of officers barged into Mr. Lu's home, searched it without following legal procedures, and beat people, including a teenager. Mr. Lu was put into a car. After being held in the Hui Detention Center for about 28 days, he was released on medical parole.
4. [Hui County, Gansu Province] Ms. Yang Xuqin Held in Detention Center
Ms. Yang Xuqin is a middle school teacher in Hui County. She was arrested at her home on the morning of January 22, 2013 and is being held in the Cheng County Detention Center.
Previously on April 27, 2012, Ms. Yang was deceived and went to the school, where officers had been waiting for her. They forced her to surrender her cell phone and keys and then lead them to her home, where they confiscated many Falun Gong books and Ms. Yang's personal belongings. Ms. Yang was taken to the Cheng County Detention Center that day. After being held there for 23 days, she was released on medical parole.
5. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Shouxin Received Heavy Sentence
Mr. Zhang Shouxin's family went to the detention center for a visit before the Chinese New Year. The family was informed that Mr. Zhang had been sentenced to eight years in prison on February 5, 2013. The family is not yet allowed to visit.
Mr. Zhang was arrested on March 26, 2012 and has been held in the Changle Detention Center.

6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Chen Lanmei Arrested and Frightened
Ms. Chen Lanmei, in her 70s, was taken to the Dongchuan District Detention Center on the afternoon of July 1, 2012, by Chief Xu Yonglin and others from the Domestic Security Division. Officers ransacked her daughter's home (Ms. Chen lived with her daughter) and confiscated Falun Gong books and other items. Officers wanted to detain Ms. Chen and took her to a hospital for a physical examination. The detention center refused to take her in because she suffered from high blood pressure. Her daughter still had to obtain a guarantor pending trial before she could take her mother home that night. After that, officers from the Domestic Security Division often went to the home to take photos and frighten her.
7. [Wenshan, Yunnan Province] Mr. Zhong Mingwen and His Wife's Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Zhong Mingwen and his wife Ms. Tao Ying were arrested on February 11, 2012 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.
8. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zeng Shousong Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Zeng Shousong, 74, is from the Huaian District, Huaian City. He was arrested by officers from the Huaian District 610 Office for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public. He was later sentenced to three years in prison and at the beginning of February, 2013, he was taken to the Hongzehu Prison in Jiangsu Province.

9. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Feng Peng and Others Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Feng Peng from Yaotuya Village, Boshan Town, and Ms. Jiao Yulian and Mr. Li Yongfeng from Nangushan Village, Yuanquan Town, were taken to a detention center on May 13, 2010. In July of the same year, they were taken to the Jinan Forced Labor Camp.
