(Minghui.org) Mr. Zuo Fusheng was the youngest section-level cadre at his workplace. His younger sister Ms. Zuo Xiuyun was an outstanding teacher in her school district. The siblings, who lived in Yong'an, Fujian Province, have been repeatedly persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa, and were arrested again in 2011. Mr. Zuo was sentenced to six years in prison and taken to the Fuqing Prison on August 15, 2012. Ms. Zuo was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and taken to the Fuzhou City Women's Prison on January 14, 2013.
Mr. Zuo is a cadre in Fuzhou City Railway Bureau. Officers Lin Feng, Yan Mingkun, and others from the Fuzhou Domestic Security Division arrested him on his way to work on January 19, 2011. They took his home key and illegally searched his home. He was detained in the Fuzhou City No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Zuo appealed to the authorities for her brother's release. She stated that freedom of belief is a constitutional right of all citizens, and that practicing Falun Dafa is her brother's legal right, so his detention violates the law. She requested her brother's unconditional release.
At the same time, Ms. Zuo sued Lin Feng and Yan Mingkun of the Fazhou Domestic Security Division, along with Cao Yongkang and Liu Ying of the Cangshan Procuratorate, for abusing the law.
The police tried to arrest her on April 16, 2011 and November 23, 2011, but failed.
Ms. Zuo Xiuyun did not return home on December 16, 2011, after leaving at around 2:00 p.m. Her family later learned that she had been arrested in the Tiedao Community that day and held in Cell 119 of the Fuzhou No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Zuo initiated a hunger strike to protest her arrest. The detention center rejected her mother's and daughter's requests to visit her.
Ms. Zuo's attorney was finally able to visit her on April 19, 2012. He learned that her arrest had been approved on January 16, 2012. The criminal investigation report was submitted to the Taijiang District Procuratorate, then transferred to the Jin'an District Procuratorate. The latter returned it to the Domestic Security Division because of “insufficient evidence, supplemental investigation required” on April 19.
The Jin'an District Court sentenced Ms. Zuo to a three-and-a-half-year term on August 21, 2012. She was taken to the Fuzhou Women's Prison on January 14, 2013.
The siblings have been repeatedly persecuted over the past fourteen years. Mr. Zuo was incarcerated twice in a forced labor camp, and forced to divorce.
Ms. Zuo, in her forties, was a teacher in the Yong'an City Railway Bureau Kindergarten. She was presented the Outstanding Teacher award by the Shanghai Railway Bureau upper management. She then lost her job and was forced to divorce during the persecution.
Ms. Zuo was sentenced to three-year and six-year terms for practicing Falun Dafa in 2000 and 2004, respectively, and was incarcerated at the Fujian Province Women's Prison. She was released in June 2010.
The two siblings are now both incarcerated, with no one to care for their 80-year-old mother.
