(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Guoxiang from Changchun and many other Falun Gong practitioners from Liaoyuan, Jilin Province, were arrested on July 1, 2012. On November 30, 2012, the Xi'an District Court of Liaoyuan unlawfully sentenced Mr. Wang to five years in prison.
Repeated Arrests, Torture, and Forced Labor
Mr. Wang Guoxiang was sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, Changchun, Jilin Province in 2002. After the provincial inspection, the camp held a “meeting” to deal with practitioners who firmly believed in Falun Gong. In the meeting, warden Wang Yanwei said, “You must 'transform.' If you do not do it on your own, we will help you.” The guards tortured the practitioners in all kinds of ways. Many practitioners were beaten and shocked with electric batons. The persecution kept escalating. Mr. Wang Guoxiang was handcuffed behind his back and beaten for the whole morning. His clothes were ripped. With bare arms, he was forced to parade around. A poster with words defaming Master Li was hung around his neck.
Between 2001 and 2003, the camp held four large scale so-called “battles” to tackle practitioners. The guards utilized triangle belts, axe handles, pickaxe handles, bamboo sticks, police sticks, wire, electric batons, and canes to beat practitioners. When it was -40ºC, the guards stripped off practitioners' clothes, poured water on them, and opened the windows to let cold wind blow into the rooms. The guards also handcuffed practitioners behind their backs and hung them up with a belt hooked through the handcuffs, which is called “Great Hanging.” According to Zhang Yu, a perpetrator, the camp persecuted Falun Gong practitioners with tortures called “metal, wood, water, fire and earth.” The tortured practitioners included: Wang Zhidong, Yang Jingwei, Li Min, Li Qiu (who has been tortured to death), Chi Minbao, Sun Xianming (who has been severely disabled), Wang Guoxiang, Zhao Jingtai, and Zhang Kejiang.
In April 2005, Wang Guoxiang was detained in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp for the second time. When he was in the newcomer division (the First Division), he did not cooperate with the “transformation” efforts. He was transferred to the Second Division in May 2005. Ma Yuntao and other guards had "conversations" with him from about 10 p.m. to about 3 a.m. every night, which continued for several days. The division also dispatched people to watch Mr. Wang and did not let him go downstairs to eat in the cafeteria. Mr. Wang firmly believed in Dafa and did not “transform.”
Mr. Wang was transferred to the Fourth Division in November 2005. The division arranged for people to watch him every day. He sat on a plastic stool alone in the cell and was not allowed to talk to anyone. In December 2005, when the camp intensified the abuse on practitioners who firmly believed in Falun Gong, Mr. Wang was forced to sit on the cold tile floor. A few days later, he became limp. Later on, a guard said Wang Guoxiang had “transformed” and written the three statements, spreading rumors in the division. Actually, it turned out that Chen Lihui, an instructor in the Fourth Division, ordered the guard to write the three statements and then held Wang Guoxiang's finger to add a fingerprint. When the provincial judicial department went to the camp and examined the “transformation” situation of Falun Gong practitioners, every practitioner who had “transformed” had to declare himself. Wang Guoxiang did not do it. As a result, he was forced to sit on a small stool again. Around March 1, 2006, the division tortured him again. His arms were stretched and handcuffed to a bed rail for three or four days. He was then forced to sit on the edge of the bed but not allowed to sleep for about 20 days. Mr. Wang then had a cerebral hemorrhage. After that, he could not take care of himself.
On July 1, 2012, Liaoyuan police and Changchun police arrested Mr. Wang and other practitioners. At about 1 a.m., the practitioners were taken to the Dongji Branch of Liaoyuan Police Department for interrogation. The police beat and shocked them with electric batons. At about 10 p.m., the practitioners were transferred to the Liaoyuan Detention Center.
The Liaoyuan Detention Center forced the practitioners to do slave labor, sticking colorful plastic wrappers on toothpicks. Everyone had to finish at least 5000 toothpicks daily. The practitioners had to work from morning to night. There was no rest day. The product is exported.
Unlawful Sentencing
On November 30, 2012, the Xi'an District Court of Liaoyuan went to the detention center and announced their decisions: Liu Jingjun was sentenced to 11 years in prison; Cao Weibo, nine years; Sun Liping, five and a half years; Wang Guoxiang, five years; and Zhang Ping, four years. The practitioners' families are planning to appeal. Liu Jingjun has submitted an appeal.
Kindhearted people and international society, please pay attention to what Falun Gong practitioners suffer, stop the evil persecution and rescue these innocent people.
