Additional Persecution News from China – March 15, 2013 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in eight provinces. According to this report, eight Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least ten practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Guan Yuhua from the Zhanhe Forest Bureau is being held in the Tongbei Forest Bureau Detention Center.

2. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Min and His Wife Arrested on March 13, 2013

3. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Jinghua Tried in Court

Ms. Zhang Jinghua from Sanjiazi Community in the Nanpiao District, Huludao City, was tried on January 9, 2013, and sentenced to four years in prison on January 31, 2013. Ms. Zhang has lodged an appeal with the Huludao City Intermediate Court.

Ms. Zhang's family was recently informed that the Huludao City Intermediate Court authorities will try Ms. Zhang in the No.2 Criminal Court on the afternoon of March 26, 2013.

4. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. He Shirong Arrested

Deputy director Zhao Shimin and other officers from the Damin Police Station barged into Mr. He Shirong's home and arrested him on the morning of March 11, 2013. They confiscated a computer, printer, cell phone, Shen Yun DVDs, an mp3 player, an mp4 player, and several thousand yuan in cash. Mr. He failed the physical examination and was released on the evening of March 13, 2013.

Ms. Han Yueming was arrested at home by officers from the State Security Bureau and the Weihailu Police Station on the afternoon of March 11, 2013. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books, materials about Falun Gong, and her phone were confiscated. Some other practitioners' homes were also ransacked.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhong Qingxia Detained

Ms. Zhong Qingxia was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division for putting up notices with the facts about Falun Gong on February 11, 2013. After forcing her husband to hand over two Falun Gong books, they released Ms. Zhong.

When Ms. Zhong took her child to Jinan City for school, officers from the Domestic Security Division constantly came to her home and harassed her family. On March 10, when officers learned that Ms. Zhong had come back, they deceived her into going to the police station and from there took her to the Yantai City No.2 Detention Center for a term of 15 days.

8. [Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Arrested

Ms. Zhou, an employee of the Hebei Provincial 6410 Factory, was heard explaining facts about Falun Gong on March 8, 2013, at a farmer's market, by Zhang Zilong, an officer from the Weixin Police Station. Zhang confiscated Ms. Zhou's wallet and took her into custody.

9. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Jin Changlin Transferred to Brainwashing Center on March 14, 2013

10. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Guiying and Ms. Deng Liangcun Sent to Shandong Provincial Women's Prison

The Linyi City 610 Office collaborated with the Lanshan District Procuratorate and Court and had Ms. Fu Guiying and Ms. Deng Liangcun from Linyi City sentenced to nine and seven years in prison, respectively. Ms. Fu and Ms. Deng appealed to the Linyi City Intermediate Court, which upheld the decision.

After being held in the Linyi City Detention Center for over nine months, Ms. Fu and Ms. Deng were taken to the Shandong Provincial Women's Prison on the morning of March 14, 2013, which the families were not informed about.

11. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Deng Yizhi and Ms. Zeng Lianfeng Detained

Ms. Deng Yizhi and Ms. Zeng Lianfeng from Chenzhou City, both in their 40s, were arrested for handing out Shen Yun DVDs on March 6, 2013. They are being held in the Chenzhou City Detention Center.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Weijie Cruelly Beaten in Fanjiatai Prison

Mr. Zhang Weijie from Wuhan City has been held in the No.3 Ward of Fanjiatai Prison, Shayang, Hubei Province, since the latter half of last year. He was cruelly beaten by guards including He Debin for not obeying orders. He developed a large black bruise on his chest.

When Mr. Zhang was held in the Hubei Provincial Law Education Institute, he was tortured by officers and collaborators and consequently became hunched over and was not able to straighten his back.

13. [Anhua County, Hunan Province] Ms. Chen Ruizhen Held in Detention Center

Ms. Chen Ruizhen and her father from Anhua County were arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in public on the afternoon of March 11, 2013. Officers took their key and ransacked their home. The father was released that evening. Ms. Chen is still being held in a detention center.

14. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Ms. Sun Guixiang Harassed

Village Party secretary Hu Haihu, director Liu Liyong, and militia chief Bao Jinmen from Shahuling Village, Xinjie Town, Jiayu County, went to Ms. Sun Guixiang's rented residence during lunch time on March 9, 2013, and threatened her, telling her not to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong. They falsely charged her, claiming that she was responsible for the signs posted in the village that defamed Falun Gong. They then ordered Ms. Sun to pay for the damages. They rummaged around her room and confiscated a Falun Gong book, some weekly publications, and other informational materials about Falun Gong. Liu Liyong and officer Wang from the Xinjie Town Police Station threatened Ms. Zhou again on March 13 and claimed that they would put her in a detention center if she distributed more materials about Falun Gong.
