(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 6 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Daxinganling, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Wei Taken to the Harbin Women's Prison

Ms. Li Wei from Jiagedaqi, Daxinganling was sentenced to five years in prison. She was sent to the Harbin Women's Prison on August 28, 2012.

2. [Shenzhou, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Xianying, Mr. Zhang Yun, and Ms. Yang Ranli Still Detained

Ms. Song Xianying, Mr. Zhang Yun, and his daughter Ms. Yang Ranli are still being detained, as of January 28, 2013.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yumei Arrested

Ms. Zhu Yumei was arrested by Changning District Domestic Security Division. He is still being detained in the Changning Detention Center.

4. [Shouguang, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Yulan and Her Daughter Qin Xiaoli Arrested

On the morning of January 27, 2013, Ms. Cao Yulan and her daughter Qin Xiaoli from Changle County, Shouguang were arrested by police and taken to the Jitai Town Police Station while they were distributing Falun Gong materials in Jitai Town, Shouguang. 79-year-old Ms. Cao Yulan was released that night. Ms. Qin is still being detained.

5. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Cuihua Arrested

Ms. Dai Cuihua from Caidian District, Wuhan was arrested by officers from the Qiaokou District Police Department for distributing Falun Gong materials. She is being detained in the Wuhan Women's Detention Center.

6. [Guangling, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei Arrested

Ms. Wang Hongmei was arrested by Zhang Yahong, chief of Douquan Township Police Station, in Guangling County, on January 24, 2013. She is being detained in the Datong Detention Center.

7. [Nanzheng County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Liu Wei Arrested

Mr. Liu Wei was arrested while he was distributing Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of January 26, 2013. He was sent to the Nanzheng Detention Center.

Mr. Liu Wei was sent to a forced labor camp in 2009 by the Hantai District 610 Office in Hanzhong City, where he was detained for two years.

8. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Liansu Tortured

Mr. Wang Liansu was arrested and detained when he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. He was confined in a cold room for two days. Later on, he was confined in a basement in Changchun and brutally tortured. His entire body was shocked with electric batons, including his private parts.
