(Minghui.org) After graduating several years ago, I was assigned to my current work unit, just in time for the last-ever distribution of housing benefits. Unfortunately, I was given only a small apartment. A female coworker with the same seniority got a two-bedroom apartment, owing to her having an affair with our work unit's Party secretary. My other coworkers called this phenomenon an “unwritten rule.”
Staying Pure, Like a Lotus Growing Out of the Mud
Society's moral standards are sliding downward a thousand miles a day, and the masses drift along with it. Facing the temptations of modern life, as a young adult I had to make choices.
I once went to one of our branches to review their work. One staff member told me that Falun Gong practices Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and can benefit people mentally and physically. She told me that she had many health issues for the first ten years of her marriage. We all knew that her husband wanted to divorce her because she had fertility problems. After practicing Falun Gong, she became healthy. I was surprised to see her bulging belly and said, “ Oh! Congratulations! You will finally be a mother.”
After she told me her story, I started reading Zhuan Falun and began my cultivation. I had been in poor health since childhood, and my parents constantly worried about me. After starting work, I visited the clinic so often that I became friends with the staff there. After I started practicing Falun Gong, all my illnesses disappeared, and I never returned to the clinic again. I now look younger than my age.
Because we could get medical expenses reimbursed, I reimbursed my relatives' medical expenses under my name–a common practice I learned from my colleagues. After becoming a cultivator, I stopped doing that and similar things that did not conform to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Something even more magical was that I could pass all kinds of professional exams, not matter how hard they were. I have only a college degree. There were many talented people in my company, and most of them had more education than I. In the beginning, my colleagues looked down on me and thought I was incapable of doing anything. However, my intelligence increased after practicing Falun Gong. On a very difficult qualification exam, I was the only one in our system to pass it. After that exam, I was recognized as a “talented woman,” and all my colleagues wanted me to work in their departments. Actually, instead of spending a lot of time studying professional documents, I spent most of my free time reading Zhuan Falun. Falun Gong opened up my wisdom.
A Three-Bedroom Apartment
Falun Gong advocates practicing in everyday society and can lead to a revival of society's morality. Zhuan Falun also mentions that young people may start a family. At that time, I had a boyfriend who worked at the provincial High Court. He said, “Our system is so corrupt. It's hard to find a good girl. You are so pure and compassionate. What a difference it makes to have a girlfriend who practices Falun Gong!” He asked me, “My work unit will assign me a three-bedroom apartment in six months. Can we get married then?”
Unexpectedly, in July, the Chinese Communist Party began its persecution of Falun Gong. After I went to Beijing to petition for justice for Falun Gong, my name was added to my provincial government's blacklist. After returning from Beijing, I became a major target for surveillance. Because of the Party's “guilt by association” policy, my boyfriend was threatened by his leaders and was forced to break up with me.
Afterwards, we did not have any contact. Working in the prosecution system, he learned more and more about the truth of Falun Gong and the Party's dark secrets. In his heart, he admired Dafa practitioners and felt that breaking up with me at the time was wrong, that we were torn apart by the Party. When I was later arrested and detained by the 610 Office, he used his contacts and surreptitiously protected me.
Moving into a Big Apartment
I was still living in my small apartment. My company often deducted various amounts from my salary because I practiced Falun Gong. I never thought of buying a bigger apartment and only thought about how to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to more people. I bought equipment to print truth-clarification materials for distribution to people in the area.
One day, my mother called and urged me to buy a bigger apartment, offering to pay the down payment for me. Because my parents live on their pensions and are not wealthy, I did not want them to have an extra financial burden. When I declined, they got very angry and insisted, so I had no choice but to agree for them to wire the down payment to my bank account.
My parents had a small investment that had failed to produce an income for years. After they decided to buy a better apartment for me, their investment suddenly improved for two years until they paid off my mortgage. My parents wondered why the income stopped after they paid off my mortgage. I told them, “It's a blessing to practice Falun Dafa. It's because you wanted to buy an apartment for a Dafa practitioner.” After that, they no longer interfered with my practice and only hoped that the Party would not persecute their daughter again.
My Whole Family Is Blessed
My whole family is blessed because I practice Falun Gong. My parents are healthy, and my brother clearly benefited from Master's protection. Each time after I was persecuted, my brother got a promotion. He started at a marginal, entry-level position and now is part of the best work unit in the local government.
I have obtained a valuable piece of real estate without fighting for it. All the material losses I suffered when being persecuted for not giving up my belief in Falun Gong were given back to me in double. Master said in Zhuan Falun,
“In the course of our losses, what we actually lose are the bad things.”
This is absolutely correct. I believe every Dafa disciple who has maintained his/her cultivation through to today has felt Master's great mercy.
The heinous Party is about to fall, and the most evil page of history will soon be turned. I have no words to describe Dafa's boundlessness and Master's mercy. I hope all kind people in the world can sooner know the truth, withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party, and be safe.
