(Minghui.org) Mr. Yang Yifan, 41, is a former employee of the Chengdu City Aerospace 7111 Factory. He was in very poor health when he was young and often had to take medicine. When he started to practice Falun Gong in early 1996, his condition began to improve.

In late March 2008, Mr. Yang was reported to the authorities when he was seen talking to his work colleagues about Falun Gong. Jia Xiaodong, the deputy head of the security department, and others took him to the office, where he was interrogated and beaten. They threatened to take him to the police and detain him. Mr. Yang was forced to leave home on April 1, 2008 to avoid persecution.

Mr. Yang and another practitioner Mr. Jing Changxu from Anyue County were secretly arrested on the afternoon of October 13, 2012 by Jiang Mingquan, who is head of the Anyue Domestic Security Division. Black hoods were used to cover the practitioners' heads, and they were taken to Ererhu Brainwashing Center in Ziyang. Mr. Yang had been away from his home for four-and-a-half years when he was arrested.

The police never informed Mr. Yang's family after the arrest, and Mr. Yang's father, Mr. Yang Jianzhong, only heard that his son had been detained in Ererhu Brainwashing Center three months later. When he went there to request his son's release, staff at the brainwashing center refused to listen to him and forced him out of the building. Officials from the Party committee at the Aerospace 7111 Factory later severely persecuted Mr. Yang Jianzhong for trying to get his son released.

Mr. Yang Jianzhong is a state-recognized engineer who made great contributions to China's space industry and has helped to saved tens of millions of yuan for the Aerospace 7111 Factory. He worked so tirelessly that he acquired several illnesses. But after he practiced Falun Gong, his illnesses soon disappeared, saving the factory on medical expenses. However, he was still persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the current leaders of the factory.

Requesting Mr. Yang Yifan's release from Ererhu Brainwashing Center

When Mr. Yang Yifan's father and his step-mother, Ms. Bai Qunfang, learned about his detention, they went to Ererhu Brainwashing Center on January 29, 2013 to request his release. They were taken to a room, where three people came to meet them. One woman gave them a form to fill out, which Mr. Yang Jianzhong promptly did. The guard whose surname is Tang took the form and went out of the room. Tang returned within about 10 minutes, and said rudely, “I know you also practice Falun Gong. My boss said it's not okay for you to meet with your son, let alone for us to release him. You must have the Chengdu Anti-cult Office sign the form in order for us to release him.”

Staff in the brainwashing center did admit that Mr. Yang Yifan had been detained there for over three months and that he had been previously detained in Chengdu, and was transferred to the brainwashing center at the request of officials from the Chengdu Anti-cult Office. Mr. Yang Jianzhong and Ms. Bai Qunfang asked to see their son, but guard Tang refused and threatened to detain them and have them arrested. Then, he shouted at them to leave the building.

Mr. Yang Jianzhong's persecution intensified by officials from the Aerospace 7111 Factory

Mr. Yang Jianzhong and Ms. Bai Qunfang went to see Li Shanqing, head of the Aerospace 7111 security department, and Wu Tao, party secretary of the security department, after they returned from the brainwashing center. They sought their help to find people from the Wenjiang 610 Office or Chengdu 610 Office to release their son or at least let them visit him. Li Shanqing kept asking them how they knew where Mr. Yang Yifan was detained. He also said that he could not do anything for Mr. Yang Yifan, as he had already been gone from the company before Li came to work at the security department.

Since then, security to monitor Mr. Yang Jianzhong's home has been increased. Luo Zhongqi, one of Mr. Yang Jianzhong's neighbors, is the head of the residents there and is also the group head for the Party members living in the building. Luo was told to harass and monitor Mr. Yang by the security department and retirement office of the Aerospace 7111 Factory. He often tried to phone Mr. Yang, but as Mr. Yang was deaf, he didn't answer the phone. Sometimes when Ms. Bai wasn't at home, Luo went to their apartment to harass him.

On March 4, 2013, when Ms. Bai wasn't at home, Luo went to Mr. Yang Jianzhong's apartment, but Mr. Yang refused to let him in. Later, Mr. Yang visited Luo's apartment and talked to him about Falun Gong and the persecution. Luo reported this incident to the security department and the retirement office. Sun Guangyou and Zhao Lin from the retirement office went to Mr. Yang's apartment with Wu Tao on the morning of March 6, 2013. They harassed him and threatened to arrest him. As they were leaving, Sun turned around and said again, “You be careful. I can arrest you anytime.”

Mr. Yang Jianzhong's finances withheld

Since Mr. Yang Jianzhong was first arrested on December 19, 2006, officials at the Aerospace 7111 Factory and the Party Committee have never stopped persecuting him. He has been arrested eight times and held at the detention center or Xinjin Brainwashing Center six times. After he was released, he was put under house arrest and monitored. His phone has been tapped and monitored, and calls to the home are often intercepted, making it very difficult to receive or make phone calls. Luo Zhongqi was responsible for doing his grocery shopping, and if he went out, he had to inform Luo first. He would then be followed by about 5 people. Every time there were some large events, such as the Chinese National day, large political conferences, the Olympics, etc., he was either arrested or his home was ransacked, and he was always threatened and harassed. He has told the facts about Falun Gong to the people from the Party Committee many times, but they have refused to listen to him.

On August 7, 2008, one day before the Beijing Olympics, Mr. Yang Jianzhong was arrested and all of his wages, bonuses and other financial benefits were withheld from the company. Even those from previous years were withheld. Ms. Bai has no income, and they both have to live on Mr. Yang's small amount of money from social security.

When Mr. Yang Jianzhong was arrested by officers from Gongping Police Station in 2008, he was detained at Wenjiang District Detention Center and was later transferred to the Xinjing Brainwashing Center. He was released on January 10, 2009. During that period of time, Wu Tao and Mr. Yang Jianzhong's eldest son, Yang Honglang, took Mr. Yang's pension of 84,000 yuan. Mr. Yang has been asking them for four years to return his pension to him, but he still has not received anything.
