Additional Persecution News from China – January 24, 2013(17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Practitioners Mr. Zhang Deli, Ms. Niu Guiling, Ms. Xu Shaozun, Ms. Yu Guixiang, Mr. Wang Xiaoxuan, Mr. Yu Jinye, Ms. Li and Ms. Sui were arrested by the Security Division of the Xinggongdongcheng Police Station at the Yanjiao Development Zone, Sanhe City, Langfang, Hebei Province on the night of January 21, 2013. Ms. Sui was taken to the Sanhe City Domestic Security Division, while others were taken to the Dongcheng Police Station.

On the afternoon of January 22, 2012, five police officers from the Dongcheng District Police Station took Mr. Zhang Deli to his home. They ransacked it and confiscated his Dafa books.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Being Held at the Xinmin Detention Center

Practitioners Mr. Yu Lifeng, Mr. Cao Yang, Mr. Hu Baokuan and Mr. Pan Youfa from Shenyang City and Xinmin City have been held at the Xinmin City Detention Center since August 28, 2012.

3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gong Chengge and Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Gong Chengge, Ms. Su Wenling and another female practitioner went to Qingmei Village, Mudanjiang City to distribute truth-clarification calendars on the morning of December 14, 2012. They were arrested by officers from the Tieling Region Police Division, Yangming Police Department, Mudanjiang City. Mr. Gong's home was ransacked, and his computer and printer were confiscated. Mr. Gong and Ms. Su are being held at the Mudanjiang City Detention Center. The other female practitioner was released after being held for five days.

4. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Guozhen Arrested and Her Leg Broken

Ms. Zhang Guozhen from Nong'an County was arrested by officers from the Nong'an County Domestic Security Division on November 2, 2012. She is being held at the Nong'an County Detention Center, where she was interrogated and beaten by officers from the Domestic Security Division. Her leg was broken and she was taken to the Jilin Province Hospital to receive treatment. Her family members are not allowed to visit.

5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Xiaolan Again Arrested

Ms. Gao Xiaolan was arrested by officers from the Hedong Police Station, Fei County on January 12, 2013. On the afternoon of the same day, Liu Chuanbo, chief of the Fei County Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Gao's home and ransacked it. 6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yali Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yali was arrested when she was clarifying the truth on a bus from January 16-19, 2013.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Yuan Xiaolan Arrested

Ms. Yuan Xiaolan, a resident of Zhabei District, was arrested when she was posting truth-clarification materials at the Shanghai Bund on January 19, 2013. She is now being held at the Huangpu Detention Center.

8. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Sun Qirong and Ms. Sun Chan Arrested

Ms. Sun Qirong, from Tianjiayan, Huainan City, is being held at the No. 3 Division, Suzhou Women’s Prison, Anhui Province and has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. Ms. Sun Chan from Anqing was sentenced to 13 years in prison. She is now being held at the No. 2 Division, Suzhou Women’s Prison, Anhui Province.

9. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Shushen to Be Tried

Ms. Wang Shusen, from Jinchang City, was arrested on May 12, 2012. She has been held for over eight months and will be tried.

Mr. Zhao Jiwei, a practitioner from Xinbin County, will be tried on the morning of January 29, 2013. The judge is Li Fengjie.

Mr. Zhao Hu was transferred from a brainwashing center to the Wuhan City No. 2 Detention Center in Hubei Province.

13. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhou Kechun's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhou Kechun, 52, is from the No. 2 Division of Xinxing Village, Chaoyang Township, Shulan City. Ten years ago, he went out of town to work. At first, he still had some contact with his family. They later lost touch and his whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Lianjing Tried

Mr. Li Lianjing was tried at the Linjiang City Court on the morning of January 23, 2013.

In April, he was arrested and escaped. He left home to avoid arrest. Around October 1, 2012, while monitoring his telephone, police officers arrested him in another city and took him to the Linjiang City Detention Center.

15. [Wenshui County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Qiao Jianjun Sentenced to Long Prison Term

Mr. Qiao Jianjun was sentenced recently to three years in prison by the Wenshui County Court. However, the Procuratorate objected. They asked to sentence him to over 10 years in prison.

16. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Hongshui and Ms. Li Huiyun to Be Tried

The verdict regarding Mr. Song Hongshui and Ms. Li Huiyun is to be announced within a week by agents of the Xinhua District Court in Shijiazhuang City.

Mr. Song Hongshui and his wife Ms. Li Huiyun are both teachers at Hebei Technology University. They were arrested at home by officers from the Ning'an Road Police Station, Xinhua District on March 2, 2011. They have been held for over 22 months, and are now at the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center.

Ms. Li was previously sentenced to forced labor. Once she was tortured to the point of suffering a mental disorder but later recovered. She has again developed a mental disorder, and her hair has turned white. Every day her three meals are controlled by the head of the inmates and are not always given to her.

17. [Wuzhai County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Bai Ruifang Tried at the Wuzhai Court

Ms. Bai Ruifang was tried by agents of the Wuzhai County Court on January 7, 2013 at the Xinzhou City Detention Center, where Ms. Bai is being held.
