(Minghui.org) Officers from the Wuhan Public Security Bureau illegally arrested Mr. Yan Kejian at the Hankou Branch of Agricultural Development Bank on November 6, 2012. Mr. Yan, a Falun Gong practitioner, is the bank credit manager. He was taken to a brainwashing center and detained for two months, then transferred to the Wuhan City No. 2 Detention Center on December 31. The authorities have attempted to persecute him further.
An Accomplished Professional
Mr. Yan Kejian, an economist, is the youngest credit manager in the city's financial system. The city's central office publicized his credentials and accomplishments to the entire country. Television media also reported about his excellent work. Mr. Yan's thesis was also published in a prominent, national academic journal. Moreover, he was awarded the top honor by the local Society for Finance and Banking. Mr. Yan has also been granted honorary titles by various provincial and municipal departments.
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Guide His Life
Mr. Yan began practicing Falun Dafa in April 1996. The chronic diseases he had suffered from, including gastritis, migraines, frozen shoulder, and low blood sugar, soon disappeared. He strictly followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as the guiding principles of his life. He never used public money for personal pleasure, such as for dining or entertainment, and he always politely refused gifts and money.
Persecuted for His Belief
Because he persists in his belief, and continues to practice Falun Gong, the police have taken him to a brainwashing center three times.
Mr. Yan was illegally detained for 11 months, from April 2001 to February 2002. During that time, he was subjected to vicious beatings by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) staff members. He was then diagnosed with brain trauma syndrome.
He was again taken from work in late August 2002 to a brainwashing center, by Qiaokou Public Security Sub-Bureau police, and again tortured by CCP personnel. The brainwashing center staff admitted that Mr. Yan became incoherent for a period of time from the torture.
Mr. Yan was seized at his workplace on November 6, 2012 by officers from the Wuhan City Public Security Bureau. They ransacked his home and took his house keys, a computer, a printer, Falun Dafa books, and other personal belongings from his home. He was then detained for nearly two months in North Lake Farm Brainwashing Center, in Baiyu Mountain, Qingshan District, Wuhan City. The local 610 Office coerced his workplace managers to send two people to monitor him in the brainwashing center. The 610 Office agents also extorted a 20,000 yuan brainwashing fee from Mr. Yan's employer.
The Wuhan City Public Security Bureau then sent Mr. Yan to the Wuhan City No. 2 Detention Center on December 31, 2012.
