(Minghui.org) According to incomplete statistics, at least 20 Falun Gong practitioners in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested from January to March, 2013. Many of their homes were ransacked by police. Listed below are a few major cases:
Ms. Hu Baijuan, Ms. Sun Yumei and Ms. Xiao Binhua Arrested
Practitioners Ms. Hu Baijuan, Ms. Sun Yumei and Ms. Xiao Binhua distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the afternoon of January 26. Consequently, they were arrested and taken to the police station in Linyuan Town.
The homes of these three practitioners were searched and looted. A dozen police officers tried to break into the house of Hu Baijuan. After attempting to break open the door lock for more than six hours, they cut through the reinforcing bar outside the window in broad daylight, entered the house and looted personal belongings, including three computers, five printers, Dafa books, two photos of the founder of Falun Gong, blank DVDs, as well as several truth clarifying DVDs.
From Ms. Sun Yumei's house, the police took two computers, two printers, two MP3 players, all her Dafa books and some Falun Gong brochures.
Sun Yumei and Xiao Binhua were released on bail while Hu Baijuan is illegally detained at Daqing No. 1 Detention Center, where she is still being abused.
Ning Baofeng from Dorbod County Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
Ms. Ning Baofeng from Dorbod County in Daqing City was arrested at Tiananmen Square in Beijing around February 20 th . At about 3:00 a.m. on February 22, local police officers carried out a search of her house. Ms. Ning Baofeng was detained in Beijing for seven days and is now back at home.
Officers of the Rang District Police Department in Daqing Attempted to Press Charges Against Zhou Xiaohong
On the afternoon of January 22, Ms. Zhou Xiaohong from Xizhai, Rang District in Daqing was arrested for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. She is now detained at Daqing No. 1 Detention Center. Officials from the Rang District Police Department submitted the case to the procuratorate in an attempt to intensify the persecution.
Mother and Daughter, Kong Xiushi and Wang Xiaomeng Arrested
On March 11, Ms. Kong Xiushi and her daughter Wang Xiaomeng from Dongfengxin Village in Daqing City were arrested by officers from the Kaifa District Police Department for telling people the facts about the persecution on a bus. The next day, they were taken to Daqing No. 1 Detention Center. Officers told them they would be sentenced to prison.
Falun Gong Practitioner Gao Weizhong Arrested
Mr. Gao Weizhong from Daqing City went to the teacher's office at the Daqing Oil Institute to distribute flyers at around 3:00 p.m. on March 12. The security guards called the Kaifa District Police Department and they sent officers to bring Mr. Gao to the Daqing City Detention Center. Later, during a physical examination, it was noticed that he was unfit and hence they released him.
Xiao Zhigang from Zhaozhou County Arrested
Mr. Xiao Zhigang from Zhaozhou County in Daqing City posted in December 2012 an article on the internet exposing the Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong. He was subsequently arrested by officers from Daqing Police Department and Zhaozhou Police Department. He is currently held in custody at the Zhaozhou Detention Center. His wife and parents asked to see him several times but were turned away. The letters he sent to his family were also held back.
Ding Hongjuan Arrested in Harbin
Ms. Ding Hongjuan from Sartu District in Daqing was arrested at the security checkpoint in Harbin City Train Station on February 16 at around 3:00 p.m. She was then taken to the Harbin City Detention Center at around 9:00 p.m. that night.
Five Practitioners from the Oil Production Factory Arrested
On January 22, five practitioners from the No. 10 Oil Production Factory in Daqing went to Houshan Village in Chaoyang Township, Zhaozhou County to see the family of Ms. Wang Shuying, who had recently passed away. Someone called the police and they were taken to the local police station.
The practitioners clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the police. After more than two hours, the officers there seized their electronic book reader and all five practitioners were released.
Six Practitioners in Daqing Arrested for Joining a Group Exercise in Shenyang
On March 22, at around 3:00 a.m., 20 practitioners did the exercises together at a park in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province and were arrested. Six practitioners were from Daqing.
