(Minghui.org) Officers from the Pinglidian Police Station in Laizhou, Shandong Province, arrested Ms. Wu Jiangli and Ms. Lu Aizhi on April 18, 2013. The two practitioners are being detained in the lockup center. The guards extorted money from their families.
On April 18, 2013, at about 10 a.m., Ms. Wui and Ms. Lu, both from the town of Zhuqiao, were reported by a 60-year-old man in Pinglidian as they spoke to people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Pinglidian Police Station soon arrived and stopped them on a road. According to a passerby, the police pushed the two women down, handcuffed them, and dragged them into a police vehicle. The hands of both practitioners bled from being stepped on during the episode.
At the Pinglidian Police Station, the police struck Ms. Wu several times because she wouldn't cooperate with their demands. They forcibly took her fingerprints. Luan from the Zhuqio Police Sation, Liu Jingbing from the Laizhou Domestic Security Division, and another officer then took the two practitioners to the Laizhou Lockup Center.
On April 24, 2013, their families visited them. Li Kecheng, the guard on duty, would not allow them to visit until they paid a “boarding fee.” Ms. Lu Ai's family had to hand over 200 yuan, while Ms. Wu's family was forced to pay 500 yuan for the visit. Even so, they were permitted only a five-minute visit. Li Keqiang dragged the practitioners away after they exchanged only a few words with their families.
Ms. Wu supports her extended family. Both of her in-laws are deaf. Her child is in school and her husband is a driver in another town. There is no one to care for the child and elderly members in the family since Ms. Wu's arrest.
