(Minghui.org) Sixty-nine-year-old Ms. Yu Zaorong is in critical condition as a result of the persecution she has been subjected to at the Wuhan Women's Prison. The prison officials have taken her to Hanyang Hospital (formerly Hanyang Railroad Hospital) in Wuhan City for intensive care. While in hospital, she is closely monitored by the prison guards—even her sister is not allowed to visit. Her family members are very worried.

Ms. Yu is from Xintian Village in Wuhan City. As a farmer, she worked very hard to make a living. Along the way, she accumulated many diseases. She suffered a stroke at the end of 1995 and became totally paralyzed on one side of her body. A kidney infection also caused her body to swell all over. When all hope appeared lost, she was introduced to Falun Gong, and started practicing it in April 1996. Within six months, her illnesses disappeared. The family was filled with happiness, brought by Falun Gong. In the past 10-plus years, she has strictly followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that Falun Gong teaches, and has been healthy mentally and physically. People who know her have said that Ms. Yu became younger through the practice.

Yet, since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Yu has been arrested three times and subjected to beatings, other forms of persecution, and illegal imprisonment. This is all because she adhered to her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, tried to be a good person, and continuously clarified the truth about Falun Gong. Her family has also endured great pain during this time.

Ms. Yu was again arrested on March 11, 2012 by CCP officials and detained at the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center for six months. She was secretly sentenced to three years in prison in September 2012 by the district public security system officials, who were directly instructed by Caidian District 610 Office director Li Zhibing. Ms. Yu was then taken to the Wuhan Women's Prison for further persecution.

According to reports, Ms. Yu is the oldest of all the inmates. She has been subjected to torture at the Wuhan Women's Prison, and her life is currently in danger. She was taken to the Hanyang Hospital on March 28, 2013 for intensive care and has been diagnosed with myocardial infarction by the cardiology experts there. Ms. Yu is currently hospitalized and closely monitored by the prison guards.
