(Minghui.org) Mr. Gao Yongfu, 58, is from Xishishuitou Village, Jiangtuan Township, Laiyang City, Shandong Province. He is honest, hardworking, and competent. Since he started practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Gao has strictly followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, treats others with kindness, considers others in his daily conduct, and works hard without complaining. The villagers always give a thumbs-up when he is mentioned.
There is a cement road that leads to town just outside of the village and it is referred to by the villagers as the “tofu crumb” road (meaning it's poorly built and of low quality). Since a section of this road was seriously damaged by trucks transporting sand and dirt, it became very difficult to get through every time it rained. The villagers all complained about it but nobody wanted to fix it. Mr. Gao quietly hauled loads and loads of dirt with his own tractor and fixed the road. Yet before long, the road was damaged again. So he fixed the road again. Just like this, Mr. Gao has been voluntarily fixing the road for many years and has never asked for anything in return.
Mr. Gao has a happy family. His children live in southern China and his wife lives with them to take care of their grandchildren. He lives at home and takes care of his parents who are in their 80s. Though the four generations of the family don't live together, their lives are peaceful and enjoyable.
Mr. Gao said goodbye to his elderly parents in late March, 2013, and left home alone to visit his son in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province.
On the morning on April 8, 2013, a group of uniformed police officers along with some plainclothes officers, and village Party Committee secretary Gao Shixiang, broke into Mr. Gao's home. His elderly mother, who had never experienced such a situation, got very scared and fainted.
The police carried her in, combed through their home, and confiscated many personal belongings including a printer and some truth-clarification materials. They lied to and threatened the elderly couple and left a criminal detention notice before hurrying away.
Not until then did the family find out that Mr. Gao had been arrested in Shanghai, while on his way to Jiangsu Province, because he had Falun Gong truth-clarification materials with him. Two weeks later, police officers from Shanghai went to Laiyang City and, accompanied by Laiyang 610 Office officials, illegally ransacked Mr. Gao's home.
Mr. Gao's elderly parents are law-abiding citizens living an honest life. The unlawful arrest of their son has greatly impacted the elderly couple. Such unexpected events have left the couple in a difficult situation and they cry often due to the shock.
