Additional Persecution News from China – May 20, 2011 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 45 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Mingxia and Mr. Da Bao Missing

Two practitioners from Shijingshan District, Ms. Zhang Mingxia and Mr. Da Bao, drove to Changping on the afternoon of May 16, 2013 to clarify the truth. They have been missing for two days.

2. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Shouna May Have Been Arrested

Ms. Liu Shouna, in her fifties, went missing on May 13, 2013. It's believed that she may have been arrested.

3. [Jinning County, Yunnan Province] Mr. Li Wenbo Severely Tortured in Prison

Mr. Li Wenbo, a peasant from Gucheng in Kunyang Town, was arrested on May 11, 2009. Kunming Intermediate Court officials secretly sentenced him on October 12, and he is still detained at the Yunnan First Prison. Due to the severe torture, he became emaciated and had symptoms of internal bleeding throughout his body. His family requested a medical release on the basis of his physical condition, but the request was denied.

5. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qin Huaibin Severely Tortured in Prison, His Father Grieves Himself to Death

When Mr. Qin Huaibin distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on February 27, 2008, officers from Toudao Police Station in Ji'an City arrested him and confiscated his personal belongings as well as a motorcycle. Officials kept him in a detention center for six months and Jian Court officials sentenced him to nine years in prison. He is currently detained in Shiling Prison in Siping City. He was severely tortured in prison five years ago and still has the scars. He never fully recuperated from the torture or regained his health.

Local Domestic Security Division agents followed the 12-year-old daughter of Ms. Qin Xiuli, the younger sister of Mr. Qin, on April 23, 2008. They then arrested Ms. Qin Xiuli and detained her at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for one year.

After witnessing Mr. Qin and his sister's experience, his father, 69-year-old Mr. Qin Hengyu, died in grief on April 29, 2013.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Yang and Mother Ms. Zhang Shuxian Leave Home to Avoid Persecution

Plainclothes police agents attempted to arrest Ms. Yu Yang and her mother, Ms. Zhang Shuxian, on the street on the morning of May 17, 2013. Both managed to escape. When Ms. Yu's sister heard about it she went to her home. Police also forced the apartment door open and they confiscated a DVD writer, a computer, a printer, an image of Falun Gong's founder, and Shen Yun performance DVDs.

Ms. Yu Yang and her mother are staying away from home to avoid persecution.

7. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Zhilan's Home Ransacked

Led by the Xiawangjia Village party head in Zhuqiao Town, local police went to Ms. Liu Zhilan's home on the morning of May 16, 2013. They confiscated two copies of the book Zhuan Falun, an image of Falun Gong's founder, and some copies of Minghui Weekly.

8. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Mr. Huang Yuanqiao and Mr. Li Niannian Arrested on May 16

9. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Yuying Recently Detained

10. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xiang Li and Ms. Xu Shuqing are both from Yi County, and work in Beijing. When they posted truth-clarification materials with Ms. Li Wei, from Handan City in Hebei Province (who also works in Beijing), near Tiananmen Square on the evening on April 24, 2013, police saw them and followed them. Police agents arrested them on April 28 and they are currently detained at the Dongcheng Detention Center.

11. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yulan Arrested

Ms. Wang Yulan is a practitioner in Jinjiazhuang Village. Agents from Anqiu Domestic Security Division and Xing'anjie Police Station arrested her at home on the morning of May 15, 2013.

12. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Wang Guixiang and Other Practitioners Kept in Criminal Detention

Four practitioners from Keerqin District went to put up truth-clarification banners on the evening of May 11, 2013, including Ms. Yue Liqun, Ms. Wang Guixiang, Ms. Wang Lixia, and Ms. Qi Lingyue. Domestic Security Division officials arrested them and held them at the Hexi Detention Center on May 12. Ms. Qi returned home the next day. Ms. Wang Lixia was taken to Dadongsan Police Station in Gongzhuling City, Jilin City on May 16.

13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Chunying Arrested at Home

Ms. Wang Chuying, in her seventies, is a practitioner from the Shahekou District of Dalian City. Agents from Guilinjie Police Station deceived her into opening her door on the morning of April 23, 2013, by claiming to be her neighbors. They confiscated Falun Gong books, an NTDTV receiver, her cell phone, and 15 yuan in cash.

14. [Yichun City, Helongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yanhua and Ms. Wu Wenjin Detained

Hongsheng Police Station agents arrested Ms. Liu Yanhua and Ms. Wu Wenjin at a supermarket on the afternoon of May 17, 2013. As of May 18, they are still detained at the police station.

15. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] 24 Practitioners Still Detained at the Suihua Forced Labor Camp

At least 24 practitioners are still detained at the the Suihua Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province:
Harbin City, 7 practitioners: Mr. Wu Yi, Mr. Niu Jiahui, Mr. Pan Yonggang, Mr. Liu Jingzhou, Mr. Liu Baocai, Mr. Li Qiang, and Mr. Xu Haibo.
Shuangcheng City, 4 practitioners: Mr. Wang Xingyu, Mr. Fu Xiaogang, Mr. Hong Baojia, and Mr. Liang Xifa.
Mudanjiang City, 3 practitioners: Mr. Sun Chengshun, Mr. Li Changqun, and Ms. Zhao Jingchun.

Other cities: 10 practitioners.

16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qin Cuizhi Recently Harassed

Agents from the Lubei Police Department and the Diaoyutai Police Station harassed practitioners in mid-May, 2013. They went to the home of Ms. Liu Zilan on May 13 and the home of Ms. Qin Cuizhi on May 15, where they confiscated Falun Gong books.

17. [Xupu County, Hu'nan Province] Ms. Yang Yuesong and Ms. Yang Lanying Detained

When Ms. Yang Yuesong and Ms. Yang Lanying were distributing Falun Gong materials in the countryside on May 18, they were arrested by police. They are currently being held at the county detention center.

18. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Cao Lijiao Detained

Hetang Police Station agents arrested Ms. Cao Lijiao at her home at noon on May 9, 2013. She is currently being detained at the Jintangwan Detention Center.

19. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhang Weizu Detained

Mr. Zhang Weizu was recently arrested and is currently being held at Luohu Detention Center.

20. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Home of Five Practitioners Ransacked

Ms. Ding Yifan is a practitioner in her seventies. Agents from the Huanggu District 610 Office and Political Security Office ransacked her home on May 10, 2013, and confiscated her personal belongings, including a computer, Falun Gong books, and truth-clarification materials.

Shelita Police Station agents ransacked Mr. Yang Zhihua's home several days later. They confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books, and truth-clarification materials. Officials also ransacked the home of three other practitioners, and confiscated Falun Gong books as well as truth-clarification materials.

21. [Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Tang Hongmei and Ms. Gao Chunyuan Sentenced

Police officers arrested Ms. Tang Hongmei and Ms. Gao Chunyuan on the evening of June 25, 2012. They also arrested Mr. Wu Bo and other practitioners in August 2012. It was recently learned that Ms. Tang was sentenced to 8 and a half years, and Ms. Gao to 3 years.

22. [Huidong County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Demei and Ms. Ai Chonghui Detained

The police arrested practitioners Ms. Xie Demei and Ms. Ai Chonghui from Huidong County on April 27, 2013. They are still being held in a detention center.

23. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zuowu Detained

Mr. Li Zuowu is a practitioner in Zhujia Village. Agents from the Daigu Town 610 Office and Daigu Police Station arrested him at home on May 16, 2013, and ransacked his home. They detained him in Daigu Town and then transferred him to the Mengyin 610 Office at 4:00 p.m.

24. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Ziying Leaves Home to Avoid Persecution

Police officers arrested Ms. Liu Ziying when she was telling others about Falun Gong at Zhongshan Park on May 27, 2010. She was held at the Erzhigou Detention Center for ten days, and sent to Hubei Province No. 1 Detention Center on June 7. Because of the mistreatment, Ms. Liu's blood pressure kept rising and she returned home.

The police went to Ms. Liu's home in April 2013 and called her over the phone to harass her. Ms. Liu had no choice but to stay away from home.
