(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties and in 9 provinces. In this report, 4 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Zhang Shuxia and Ms. Ju Mingxia, Falun Gong practitioners from Hongguang Farm Village, Baiyilaga Township, Songyuan City, were arrested by police officers from the Baiyilaga Township Police Station on the afternoon of April 17, 2013 when they were clarifying the truth. They are now detained in the Guaibodian Detention Center.

Ms. Peng Huilian who is in her 50s, and Ms. Liu Falan who is in her 60s are Falun Gong practitioners from Youshui Village, Guankou Township in Liuyang City. They were arrested by plainclothes police officers when they were distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of April 15, 2013. They are currently being held in the Baxianqiao Detention Center in Liuyang City.

Ms. Li Fang, who just retired from the Shengli Oil Field two months ago, was arrested in Shikou Township, Dongying City when she was distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is currently being detained in a brainwashing facility at the Shengli Oil Field Collection Department.

Ms. Pang Yufen was arrested on the afternoon of April 14, 2013 by plainclothes police officers from the Zhuhai Road Police Station when she was posting information about the persecution of Falun Gong. Police officers then ransacked her home. She is currently being detained in the Jiaonan City Detention Center.

Ms. Gao Dinglian was arrested by police officers from the Aihui District Domestic Security Division on April 18, 2013.

Mr. Shao Changming was arrested in his home by police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Wusheng County Police Department on the night of April 15, 2013.

Ms. Wu Jiangli and Ms. Wu Aizhi, Falun Gong practitioners from Zhuqiao Township in Laizhou City, were arrested on April 18, 2013, by police officers from the Pinglidian Township Police Station. They were arrested when they were distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong in Pinglidian. They are currently being detained at the Laizhou Detention Center.

Ms. Deng Peilian was recently arrested in her home and taken to the Wusheng Brainwashing Center of Guang'an City.

Tianhe District Court in Guangzhou secretly opened a court session on March 18, 2013 and sentenced Mr. Lin Guangxiong to three and a half years in prison and Mr. Lin Sanshui to three years.

Police arrested Ms. Zhong Chaoyan in her home and ransacked the place on the morning of April 15, 2013.

Mr. Zhang Guangjie was arrested on the morning of April 19, 2013 by Sun Hongde, a police officer from the Jingmen Moonlake Police Department.

Ms. Shi Yanwei is being held in the local detention center. The police officers are interrogating her in turn using torture. They deprive her of sleep, force her to sit on a small bench, and continuously try to force her to write the three statements to give up her belief in Falun Gong.
