Additional Persecution News from China – April 11, 2013 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Xiong Xiaoxia and Ms. Huang Zhaoxia were arrested in April 2013.

2. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Haixia Detained

Officers from the Pangjia Town Police Station stormed into Ms. Gu Haixia's home and arrested her on April 7, 2013. Ms. Gu is being held at the Boxing County Detention Center.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Shuyan Released in Critical Condition

Ms. Wu Shuyan, 46, was arrested for speaking to people about Falun Gong on May 23, 2006. In September 2006, she was sentenced to 7 years in prison. She was incarcerated at the No. 7 Ward of the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

In the prison, Ms. Wu was held in solitary confinement for three years. She was also forced to do slave labor, working 12 hours every day. As a result of the persecution, she developed ascites and was in critical condition. She was released on medical parole in June 2012.

4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Tan Chengxiang Detained

Ms. Tan Chengxiang, 46, a practitioner from Baiqi Town, was arrested and taken to the Jilin City Detention Center around September 2012.

5. [Chaling County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Yongfen Released in Critical Condition

Ms. Liu Yongfen was severely persecuted in detention. On March 27, 2013, she could no longer stand steadily and felt dizzy and very weak. Her family was then notified to pick her up. Ms. Liu's salary has been withheld by the Limin Administration Office in Chaling County; she has no other income to support herself.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Pan Youfa Detained

Mr. Pan Youfa was arrested on March 22, 2013. He is being held at the Xinmin City Detention Center. He was beaten during arrest and interrogation. Police also bashed his head against the wall, causing fluid to accumulate in his brain.

7. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Zhang Wenjuan Tortured in Prison

Ms. Zhang Wenjuan was sentenced to 20 years in prison because she tapped into state-controlled TV programming to broadcast a program that clarified the truth about Falun Gong. She was incarcerated at the Qinghai Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Zhang has been brutally tortured in the prison. She was frequently locked in a small cell, and was also hung up by handcuffs on an iron door for two days. She was also shocked with electric batons; her body was left black and blue from the shocks.

8. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liu Hongbo Arrested

Ms. Liu Hongbo, in her 40s, was arrested at her workplace on the afternoon of April 9, 2013. Her home was ransacked. Her three computers, a cell phone, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Liu is being held in a building located on Jianshe Road in Nanchang City.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Jiang Dejun Imprisoned

Ms. Jiang Dejun, in her 60s, from Hechuan City, Chongqing, was sentenced to three years in prison. She is currently incarcerated at the Chongqing Women's Prison.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhuo Ruhui Arrested

Ms. Zhuo Ruhui was arrested in Gelan Town, Changshou District, on April 9, 2013.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Changyue Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Ma Changyue was sentenced to three years in prison by the Dadong District Court in Shenyang City. As a result of severe persecution while in custody, she is now bedridden and is serving her sentence outside of prison.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Arrested

Ms. Wang, a practitioner from Wuhan City, was arrested on her way to work on April 7, 2013. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
