Ms. Li Xue lives in Huohua Village in Sichuan Province. She studied at You’ai Vocational Technical School in Pi County and did well academically. Despite the ruthless persecution of Falun Gong in China, Ms. Li refused to give up her belief. In September 2012, she was expelled from school because she practices Falun Gong.
Arrested
On July 9, 2012, Ms. Li and her family and about 20 other practitioners were studying the Falun Gong teachings together. About a dozen officers from the local police station illegally arrested and detained them. Ms. Li was a minor and was sent home the next day.
In mid July 2012, agent Zhang from the 610 Office; Deng Yanghong, the director of Student Affairs; and several school staff members barged into Ms. Li’s home and told her not to continue practicing Falun Gong. On around August 20, the school principal, Yang Xinghong, and several staff members went to see Ms. Li and attempted to force her to write a Guarantee Statement stating that she would renounce Falun Gong. They threatened her that she would be expelled from school if she did not agree to give up her belief. Ms. Li declined.
Expelled from school
When school started on September 1, 2012, Ms. Li reported to school and paid her tuition. Principal Yang Xinghong called her to his office and tried to persuade her to stop practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Li refused to give up the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, because she believes there is nothing wrong with living by them. Yang handed Ms. Li a piece of paper that indicated that she was expelled from school.
A month after school started, agents from the Tangchang Town 610 Office, including Jiang Degui, went to Ms. Li’s home and again wanted her to write a Guarantee Statement. They provided her with a template and asked her to copy it, promising her that she could return to school once she wrote the statement. Ms. Li refused to comply and was not allowed to return to school.
