(Minghui.org) Police in Huaihua City, Hunan Province, broke into Ms. Chen Kaiyu's home on October 20, 2012, and arrested her. She was detained in the Huaihua Detention Center, then moved to a brainwashing center. Her hearing was held on April 11, 2013, and her defense lawyer requested her release in court.
Over a Dozen Practitioners Arrested--Homes Ransacked Around the Same Time
Several arrests took place in Hecheng District, Huaihua on October 18-20, 2012, under orders from the Huaihai 610 Office. It was a planned operation targeting Falun Gong practitioners. A total of eleven practitioners were arrested, and eighteen practitioners' homes were ransacked. Among them, six practitioners were placed in detention, one practitioner was sent to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City, and two practitioners' families were harassed. The police confiscated cash, many MP3 players, MP4 players, DVD players, cell phones, computers, notebooks, printers, Falun Gong books, and Falun Gong materials.
The arrested practitioners included Tang Qingying, Chen Kaiyu, Wei Guimei, Zhou Yuexiang, Jiang Yan, Li Yulian, Long Zhilan, Li Niannian, Zeng Xiaoying, Huang Yuanqiao, and Yang Xiaohui.
Practitioners who had their homes ransacked included Tang Qingying, Chen Kaiyu, Wei Guimei, Zhou Yuexiang, Jiang Yan, Zeng Xiaoying, Li Niannian, Huang Yuanqiao, Yin Qiuyang, Gan Yufang, Wu Daoqun, Yang Aiying, Wang Shengqiu, Li Ping, Yang Man'ai, Li Yulian, Wu Tao, and Yang Xiaohui.
The practitioners put into detention included Chen Kaiyu, Wei Guimei, Zhou Yuexiang, Jiang Yan, Li Niannian, and Yang Xiaohui.
Ms. Chen Kaiyun lives in Hecheng District, Huaihua. Officers from the Hutian Police Station broke into her home and ransacked it on October 20, 2012. She was sent to the Huaihua Detention Center. Her family repeatedly requested her release, but when the family finally got the answer that she would be released soon, the police actually deceived them, and she was transferred elsewhere without notifying her family. Two months later, her family heard that she had been detained in a brainwashing center for some time, then transferred to the Huaihua Second Detention Center. She was officially declared under arrest in November 2012.
Ms. Tang Qingying's Arrest
Yang Jun, director of Hecheng District 610 Office pounded on Ms. Tang's home door urgently at around 8:00 a.m. on October 18, 2012. Ms. Tang's husband saw the situation and refused to open the door. The persecutors cut off electricity and water to the home. Some officers stayed behind to monitor them. Ms. Tang and her husband were forced to stay inside their home all day without being able to cook any meals. They were not aware that only their home was targeted.
At around 5:00 p.m., when Mr. Yang's husband opened the door to check the supply problem of their house's electricity and water, six police officers, including Yang Fan, broke into the home and arrested Ms. Tang without showing any identification or documents. Ms. Tang was sent to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha.
Ms. Tang Qingying, 66, was formerly the deputy director of Hecheng District Statistics Bureau, and is now retired. She had severe Hepatitis B before she began practicing Falun Gong, and lived a life of suffering. She searched all means to try to find a cure, to no avail. She was fortunate to learn about Falun Dafa in 1996. Through cultivation practice, she eliminated her illnesses and regained a healthy body.
After the persecution began however, Ms. Tang was sentenced to prison twice, and was imprisoned for ten years and six months because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. During her imprisonment, both of her parents passed away from grief. She was unable to take care of her husband and three children. Her retirement earnings were stopped and she lost more than 200,000 yuan in total during the past ten some years.
Officers from the Longtan Town Center Police Station arrested Ms. Tang at around 9:00 a.m. on April 13, 2012, in her hometown. She was then detained in the Xupu County Detention Center.
Practitioners' Families Suffer
Ms. Yang Xiaohui was arrested twice in 2012. Before that, she had been sentenced to nine years in prison on September 28, 2002. Her husband was unable to bear the pressure and divorced her. She was released in 2011.
Ms. Yang's daughter-in-law is currently about to give birth to her grandchild, and needs Ms. Yang to help take care of her and the baby. Ms. Yang's family requested her release but was rejected.
Ms. Li Baoxing has been repeatedly arrested. She was sentenced to forced labor twice, for one year and three years. During last year's massive arrests in October 2012, the police came to her home and tried to arrest her. But she publicly defended herself and exposed their crime. The police had to leave her alone. However, the police often came to her home to harass her and her family. Her father, in his eighties, had to move elsewhere to live.
Yang Hua and Zhang Zhiqun, police officers from the Hecheng District 610 Office, came to practitioner Ms. Gong's home (given name unknown) in October 2012, to harass and threaten her. They tried to force her to renounce Falun Gong but failed. They threatened to come back again.
Many arrests occurred before and after October 2012. While Ms. Qiu Qianying and Ms. Li Ping were explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to people in the Hexi area of Huaihua on June 5, 2012, police officers arrested them and sent them to the Hecheng District Detention Center. Ms. Li's husband has been suffering from a mental disorder and been bedridden for over twenty years. He needs her care. But she was detained for ten days. Ms. Qiu was released since the detention center refused to admit her due to her poor health condition.
Police arrested Ms. Qiu Qianying, Ms. Qiu Hongying, and Ms. Wang Shengqiu on the afternoon of June 8, 20012, while they were distributing Shen Yun DVDs on Zhijiang Road in Huaihua, and brought them to the Chengzhong Police Station. Ms. Qiu Hongying and Ms. Wang were detained for ten days. Ms. Qiu Qianying was released again due to her health condition.
Ms. Tang Yunfen and Ms. Xue Baoyu were reported to the police on November 21, 2012, when they were speaking to people about Falun Dafa in Zhijiang County. They were arrested and detained in the Zhijiang County Detention Center.
Officers from the Tuanjie Police Station arrested Ms. Li San and her sister on the afternoon of March 17, 2013, after they were reported to the police at a market. In mid-April 2013, Ms. Yang (given name unknown) was arrested by officers from the Tuanjie Police Station.
Incomplete statistics show that from 2012 until now, 19 practitioners have been arrested in Hecheng District, 12 of them detained, one is currently under arrest, two were sent to a brainwashing center, and 18 practitioners' homes were ransacked. Ms. Tang Qingying, Qiu Qianying, Ms. Wang Shengqiu, and Ms. Yang Xiaohui were arrested and detained a couple of times. The homes of Ms. Li Ping and Ms. Yang Xiaohui were ransacked several times.
We hope that all officers from the 610 Offices, as well as police officers, and officers in the judicial system, stop participating in the persecution and make up for the crimes they have previously committed.
