Mr. Wang Jianzhong of Holingol, Inner Mongolia was born in 1958. He developed a strange illness while he was managing a restaurant. He had a high fever and his body temperature would not go down.
Mr. Wang's doctor gave up on him after he tried everything he knew, and felt administering more medicine would be harmful. The doctor told his wife to take him home and give him anything he wanted.
His father said, “There are people who do exercises at the skating rink west of the city's No. 1 Primary School. Why don't you go there and give it a try?” He went there and someone said, “You may come back tomorrow if you want to do the exercises. We are done for today.” He went back earlier the next day, and asked if a fee was charged for learning the exercises. They told him, “Falun Gong is a free teaching and there is no charge.”
After only two weeks of practicing the exercises, Mr. Wang's body felt light and all of his illnesses disappeared. He then began Falun Dafa cultivation practice.
Mr. Wang was severely persecuted after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Dafa in July 1999. He was beaten and his ribs broken. His ears and eyes bled from the beatings. He was subjected to electric shocks, hanging by handcuffs, sleep deprivation, and other tortures.
1. Abused in Police Department and Detention Center
Practitioner Ms. Zhou Liying was arrested on September 18, 2007, and illegally detained for 15 days by the Domestic Security Division, Holingol Police Department. Mr. Wang went to the police department to inquire about her release. A policewoman noticed that he had put some truth clarification materials on a windowsill and she took him in. Several officers questioned him. Mr. Wang told them that he was looking for director Li Buhe. Li was not in. An officer asked what the brochures were for. Mr. Wang did not answer, so the officer beat him. His nose bled, enough to make the ground wet beneath him. The officers took him to a detention center.
On the way to the detention center, Mr. Wang kept shouting out, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is good.”
The detention center guards cuffed him to a pillar and ordered the inmate cooks to wrestle him to the ground. The detention center doctor, Li Aixue, and guard Ji Yanbin, whipped him with triangular rubber belts. His entire body was wounded, and several of his left ribs were broken.
Mr. Wang was put in a cell with a known ruffian, Wang Fengxue. The intent was to have Wang abuse him. Although the two men knew each other when Mr. Wang was managing the restaurant, Wang pretended not to know him and mistreated him. Most of the inmates in the cell took part in the abuse. It was late autumn and very cold, and they made Mr. Wang squat while dozens of buckets of cold water were poured over him.

A week later, under orders from the guards, Wang poured dozens of buckets of cold water over Mr. Wang again, and kicked him. But instead of hurting Mr. Wang, he hurt his own leg. He said, “There really are gods looking over Falun Gong (practitioners).”
After being detained for two months, Mr. Wang was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor and taken to Tumuji Forced Labor Camp.
2. Tortured in Tumuji Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Wang was taken to the labor camp in November 2007. At first, the labor camp would not admit him because he had broken ribs. After the police talked to the camp administration several times, they somehow convinced the labor camp to admit Mr. Wang.
Shocked Four Times, Beaten until Eyes and Ear Bled
The first time Mr. Wang was shocked, guard Huang Zhigang tried to make him weave car mats, but Mr. Wang refused. Huang shocked him using a 300,000-volt electric baton.

The second time Mr. Wang was shocked, he and an inmate who was a relative of guard Dong Chongjun, had a dispute. Dong shocked him with an electric baton, then beat him until his eyes bled.
The third time Mr. Wang was shocked, he recited the content of the book Zhuan Falun out loud. The captain of the guards, Fu Aili, yelled at him, “You dare to recite that?” First he shocked Mr. Wang using an electric baton. Then he poured water on the ground and forced Mr. Wang to stand barefoot in the water. He used two electric batons in turn to shock the water. That night three inmate monitors took turns watching Mr. Wang. They poured water over him and shoved his head or chin whenever he closed his eyes. They did this for seven days. Fu wanted Mr. Wang to admit to wrongdoing. Mr. Wang insisted that reciting the Fa was not wrong.
The fourth time Mr. Wang was shocked, guard Li Kemin used the excuse of not obeying his orders to shock and brutally beat Mr. Wang. He hit him on the left ear and his ear immediately started bleeding.
Pepper Powder, Hanging, and Thigh Pinching Tortures in the Second Squadron
Mr. Wang was transferred to the Second Squadron in January 2008. In front of labor camp instructor Wang Liwei, Mr. Wang declared invalid the three statements that he had been forced to write. Wang then ordered an inmate to put pepper powder in his underwear.
Guard Bi Guoqing saw on a video monitor that Mr. Wang was doing the exercises. Bi cuffed his hands separately and hung him from a bed beam, with his feet not touching the ground. All of his weight was on his wrists. It was so painful that he banged his head against the metal beam of the bed, causing his head to bleed. He was left hanging from 10:00 p.m. to the next afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Bi had all of the imprisoned practitioners come and see how Mr. Wang was tortured. They were told that this would happen to them if they did the exercises.
On another occasion, Mr. Wang called out, “Falun Dafa is good” in a corridor to support practitioners who were confined. Bi hung Mr. Wang again.
In October 2008, guard Zhou Jianguo ordered inmate Zhang Xihai to force Mr. Wang to do physical labor daily until his release. Zhang pinched Mr. Wang in the inner thigh so severely it caused his legs to swell and turn blue. He was subsequently not able to squat while using the toilet. It took him more than three weeks to slowly recover.
Mr. Wang was released after 18 months of forced labor on March 17, 2009.
