Additional Persecution News from China – May 30, 2013 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province ] Ms. Wang Zhiping Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Zhiping was arrested by officers from the Nanmeng Town Police Station while speaking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 9, 2013. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her copier, cell phone, Falun Gong books, disks with information about the persecution of Falun Gong, paintings, and other property. Ms. Wang has been incarcerated in the Langfang Brainwashing Center.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lang Fengmei Arrested

Ms. Lang Fengmei was arrested by officers from the local police station on May 27, 2013 while informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Tao Jiuyin Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Tao Jiuyin, a former teacher from Jianyang County, was arrested by officers from the Jianyang Domestic Security Division on the evening of May 19, 2013. His whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chunlong and Mr. Chen Xinye Illegally Tried

Mr. Han Chunlong and Mr. Chen Xinye were put on trial by the Zhenxing District Court on May 28, 2013. Being very weak and unable to walk, Mr. Han was brought into the courtroom by four policemen. He looked pale and skinny.

The practitioners' relatives were not allowed to observe the trial. Mr. Han’s parents, in their 70s, were pushed to the ground and dragged away by bailiffs. They were illegally held for one and half hours and were not released until the trial ended.

Mr. Chen's father was also not allowed to observe the trial; he was dragged out of the court room by approximately 10 bailiffs.

Ms. Zhang Li was arrested by the Mudanjiang Patrol Police at midnight on May 13, 2013. She was taken to the Mudanjiang No. 2 Detention Center, where she has been severely abused and is now in a state of stupor.

Mr. Chen Hongzhu was arrested by officers from the local police station in mid-May 2013. He was taken to the Huaian City Detention Center.

7. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Leng Bing Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Leng Bing was arrested and taken to the Hegang City Brainwashing Center by officers from the Guangming Police Station.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qu Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Qu, in his 50s, was arrested by officers from the Yinzhu Town Police Station in Jiaonan City. His whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Bingchen Arrested

Mr. Li Bingchen was arrested on May 27, 2013.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Pingdu City Education Bureau: Falun Gong Practitioners Not Allowed to Teach

Mr. Jiang Huating, Communist Party secretary of the Pingdu Education Bureau, openly announced at the principals' meeting on the afternoon of May 28, 2013, that all Falun Gong practitioners in the education system are not allowed to teach.

11. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Qingmei and Ms. Li Meirong Detained

Ms. Meng Qingmei and Ms. Li Meirong were arrested on April 19, 2013. Ms. Li was released on May 26, 2013. Ms. Meng is still being held in the Heze City Detention Center.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] A Dozen Practitioners on Hunger Strike in Detention

Ms. Zhang Jie, Ms. Yang Lihua and approximately 10 other practitioners being held in the Nangou Detention Center are on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Ms. Zhang has become ill as a result.

13. [Ya'an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cheng Hailing Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Cheng Hailing was arrested by officers from the local police station while speaking to people about Falun Gong in Ya'an. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution and became very weak as a result.

Ms. Cheng was supposed to be released on May 27, 2013. However, before arriving home that day, she was arrested again by police from the Gudao Oil Extraction Factory and taken to the Shengcai Brainwashing Center, associated with the Shengli Oil Field.

Ms. Gao Xiaocui, 46, and Ms. Li, 56, were arrested by officers from the Xihu District Caibei Police Station on May 28, 2013. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books and other items.
