(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Xueqing, a 70-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was jailed and persecuted for three years and six months simply for practicing Falun Gong. She was returned to a brainwashing center by 610 Office agents in the Weiyang District in Xi'an shortly after her release on May 31, 2013.
Ms. Li is now blind in one eye due to persecution in the Shanxi Women's Prison. The vision in her other eye has also weakened, and she can hardly read. Her blood pressure is not stable.
Ms. Li was arrested by Xinjia Police Station officers and Office of Street Committee agents at home on August 3, 2009 for explaining the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was then taken to the Xi'an Brainwashing Center. Li Liang, 610 Office director, was angry at Ms. Li since she refused their attempts to “reform” her. She was then held in the brainwashing center for four months before being transferred to the Weiyang District Detention Center on November 13, 2009.
Ms. Li was illegally sentenced to five years in prison by the District Court of Weiyang. She appealed the sentence. When the Intermediate People's Court of Xi'an retried the case, they sentenced her to three years and six months. Ms. Li was admitted to the Women's Prison of Shanxi on October 28, 2010.
Shanxi Women's Prison has conspired with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners since December 2002. Practitioners, are exposed to high temperatures, hit and kicked, forced to stand for extended periods, shocked with electric batons, force-fed, handcuffed and shackled, given unknown drugs that damages the central nervous system, deprived of sleep, brainwashed, not allowed to use the toilet facilities, etc. Guards even force practitioners to work over 20 hours daily to make holiday items and package counterfeit medicines.
