(Minghui.org) On July 27, 2013, practitioners held a signature drive in the popular resort city of Freiburg to help stop the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
One of the petition forms that the practitioners used was originally drawn up in June by Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting. The other form was a petition letter to the city's Member of Parliament, calling on the local government to help stop China's state-sanctioned practice of live organ harvesting.
The practitioners' informational booth was located between the famous Freiburg Cathedral, which was built back in the Middle Ages, and a popular weekend market.

Passersby sign petitions condemning the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong
“What can I do to help stop this atrocity?” many concerned, kindhearted people asked the practitioners. Some passersby said that they knew about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, but did not know the details. Practitioners set up several informational display boards with photos depicting the CCP's crime of organ harvesting. When people saw the photos and read the brief descriptions on the display boards, they were visibly shocked.
When they found out that for 14 years, the Chinese Communist Party has been enlisting the aid of the military, prisons, labor camps, and local hospitals to remove organs from healthy Falun Gong practitioners for profit, they expressed their indignation, and immediately signed one of the petition forms showing their support for Falun Gong.
Every Chinese person who stopped to listen to the practitioners explain the evil nature of the Chinese regime, denounced the Party and all of its affiliated organizations.
A Taiwanese man with a background in criminology read one of the practitioners' fliers on the Party’s practice of live organ harvesting.
“Have you ever come across anything in any criminology course that states that live organ harvesting is a crime?” a practitioner asked him.
“This is my new research project!” he said, holding up a flier that the practitioner had just given him.
“In February, the Taiwanese medical community and the Department of Health held an international seminar,” explained the practitioner. “They invited prominent experts to discuss the Party's crimes of live organ harvesting.
“The Taipei Bar Association issued a statement against organ harvesting, with lawmakers saying that they wanted to strengthen organ transplantation legislation so that people in Taiwan would not unwittingly aid and abet the CCP in their human rights crime spree.”
“Organ Harvesting is a crime regardless of whose organs are removed!” said the man.
Mr. Matern, a Parliament candidate from the Baden CDU Party, along with his campaign team, were visiting the Freiburg constituency to meet voters ahead of Germany’s parliamentary elections in September.
A practitioner approached Mr. Matern, telling him that he was collecting signatures which would later be presented to the newly elected local MP, urging him or her to file a motion before the general election in Germany to condemn the Chinese Party's persecution of Falun Gong.
“Today, many Baden residents signed the petition, calling for an end to the CCP's 14-year-long persecution of Falun Gong in China,” the practitioner told Mr. Matern. “We urge you and the incumbent MP to listen to the voters’ voice.”
Mr. Matern accepted the practitioner’s fliers, saying that he was aware of China's human rights violations and will do what he can to help protect Falun Gong practitioners' rights in China.
