(Minghui.org) Mr. Ye Jian, in his 40s, is the head of the Business Department of the Nanbu County Office of the Nanchong City Branch of West China Securities Co.. On June 19, 2013, he was illegally arrested by police from the Domestic Security Division because he practices Falun Gong.

On the afternoon of June 19, 2013, Mr. Ye drove from his home in Nanchong City to his workplace in Nanbu County. At around 5:00 p.m., his staff phoned him and asked when he would arrive, saying that someone wanted to open an account. Mr. Ye replied that he would be there within ten minutes. An employee later sent him a text message saying, “They are police officers; please do not come.” However, the message was blocked so he did not receive it, and the employee's cell phone was confiscated.

When Ye Jian arrived at his workplace, he was immediately arrested by plainclothes police from Nanbu County. His car and a laptop were confiscated. Several officers from the Nanchong City Police Department entered his home in Nanchong City and ransacked it. They recorded the scene and confiscated personal items including Dafa books.

Mr. Ye's mother and other family members, along with Mr. Liu Yong, manager of the Nanchong City Business Department, West China Securities Co., went to the Nanbu County Police Department's Domestic Security Division to talk to officer Gou Qiuhao, director of the Nanbu County Domestic Security Division. Their request to meet with Mr. Ye was refused. Mr. Ye was interrogated by Gou and other officers. The next afternoon, Mr. Liu was able to visit Mr. Ye after repeated efforts. Mr. Ye asked Mr. Liu to forward his request to his family to hire an attorney, which they did.

Because Mr. Ye is innocent of any wrongdoing, officers from the Nanbu County Domestic Security Division lied to his family, trying to frame him: “Ye Jian sent a message saying, 'heaven will destroy the Chinese Community Party,' so he was considered as an online threat in China. The order was from the Chengdu Domestic Security Bureau, for agents from the Nanbu County Domestic Security Division to arrest him.” They said that if Mr. Ye did not give up his faith, he would be sentenced to prison.

Mr. Ye was handcuffed and taken to the Nanbu County Detention Center at 3:00 p.m. on June 20, 2013. On the morning of June 21, 2013, he was secretly transferred to Nanchong City, but his family did not receive any official notice of Mr. Ye's transfer.

Family given the run-around

It was was extremely hot the day that Mr. Ye was arrested. Mr. Ye's elderly father and mother-in-law traveled to the Nanchong City Detention Center under the baking sun with an attorney, but the guards said that Mr. Ye was not there. The family heard later that Mr. Ye had been transferred to Nanchong City by Gou Qiuhao, director of the Nanbu County Domestic Security Division.

Mr. Ye's father was worried about his son as it was very hot, and his whereabouts were unknown. He called the Nanbu County Police Department and asked the director, political instructor, director of the Domestic Security Division, and director of the detention center to tell him where his son was so he could bring him some clothes. Everyone he spoke with either gave him the run-around using various excuses, or they would immediately hang up the phone.

Mr. Ye's family went to the Xishan Brainwashing Center in Nanchong City on the morning of June 23, 2013. They could tell there were people inside, and they also saw a guard purchasing food for twenty to thirty people. His family decided to call out to Mr. Ye at the side of the brainwashing center, close to the place where they thought that Falun Gong practitioners were being held. They called towards the second floor, “Ye Jian!” and heard him clearly answer “Yes,” twice. Then there was no reply, and a short time later, they heard someone cry out while being brutally beaten.

We hope that people of conscience all over the world will help Mr. Ye get back home as early as possible, and we hope that Gou Qiuhao and others who have mistreated Mr. Ye will make the right decision to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
