(Minghui.org) There are quite a few experience sharing articles about practitioners encountering family tribulations. The reasons appear to be varied, but in my opinion, it is mainly because our family members do not completely know the truth about Falun Gong, so they often do not understand and support our cultivation, or even oppose us.
Our family members often seem to be the safest and most convenient people to clarify the truth through conversation, but I suggest fellow practitioners also give truth clarification materials to our relatives in an open and dignified manner. Here is my approach.
I have run my own truth clarification material production site for 10 years. From the very beginning, whenever I printed new materials, I would first let my family members read them. Gradually, they not only learned the facts but also the principles of being a virtuous human being. They were not fooled by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) propaganda and knew that Falun Gong practitioners were upright and selfless people. They also told their friends and colleagues the facts about Falun Gong and persuaded them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I think that this exemplifies their fulfilling a predestined relationship and will bring them many blessings.
In addition to being the first readers of our materials, my family members have also given me suggestions about improving the layout for better readability.
My family usually takes care of almost all the housework and have been quietly supporting me all these years. Occasionally they'd say, “You don't do any housework and spend so much money (producing truth clarification materials).” I would tell them, “As you can see, I have been doing a lot of things and am very tired too. We are just playing different roles, but are all fulfilling our vows. This is our predestined relationship and your blessing.”
Every time I mentioned “fulfilling our vows,” they would show a happy and innocent expression and not say anything else. I'd like to sincerely and humbly thank my family, and even more, the care from Master.
We can approach things according to each of our family members' notions and situations and find corresponding truth clarification materials to gradually untie the knots in their minds.
