Additional Persecution News from China – July 17, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shuyun Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuyun from Xixia City was arrested on the morning of July 10, 2013, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. Officers from the Zhuangyuan Police Station made the arrest. They extorted 2,000 yuan before releasing her that same day.

2. [Jiangmen, Guangdong Province] Mr. Feng Qifeng and Ms. Li Aiqun Face Trial

Authorities have scheduled the trial for Mr. Feng Qifeng and Ms. Li Aiqun for July 26, 2013.

3. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xuemei on Hunger Strike

Ms. Wang Xuemei is on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

4. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guanghui Hospitalized

Ms. Sun Guanghui from Lushunkou District developed skin disease while in the Dalian Detention Center. She is currently hospitalized in the No. 210 Hospital in Dalian.

5. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Chuanyong Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Chuanyong, a teacher at the No.6 High School in Zhangqiu City, was arrested on the afternoon of July 11, 2013, at the Jinan Railway Station. The police searched his bag and confiscated dozens of CDs with software that can circumvent the Internet blockade, as well as bills with imprinted messages about Falun Gong worth over 2,000 yuan.

The police proceeded to ransack Mr. Zhang's home and confiscated two computers and cell phones, worth more than 10,000 yuan. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Diao Town Police Station and interrogated. He was then sent to the Jinan City “Law Education Center,” a brainwashing center, for three days.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Yujie and Ms. Zhao Kemin Detained

Ms. Zhou Yujie and Ms. Zhao Kemin were arrested at work on the morning of July 15, 2013. Four officers, led by Fan Hongkai, head of the Yushu Domestic Security Division, made the arrest and took them to a detention center.

7. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Qiaorong Arrested

Ms. Song Qiaorong was arrested on July 14, 2013, by officers from the Gaokai District Police Station and the Xingtai City Police Department. The police took Ms. Song to the police station and confiscated her printer, laptop computer and other personal belongings.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Liping and Ms. Wang Weijuan Detained

Ms. Wang Liping and Ms. Wang Weijuan are being held in the Chengdu Detention Center.

9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Sun Shuying, Ms. Song Jiling, Mr. Wang Detong and Ms. Cui Luning's husband were arrested in Ms. Song's home in the Huangdao Development Zone on the morning of July 14, 2013.

Ms. Sun is currently held in the Pudong Detention center in Jimo. Mr. Wang Detong and Ms. Cui's husband are held in the Huangdao Detention Center. Ms. Song has been released and placed under residential surveillance.

10. [Chenzhou, Hunan Province] Ten Practitioners Sent to Brainwashing Center

Beihu District authorities held a brainwashing session on June 26, 2013. Ten practitioners have been detained at the brainwashing center as of July 16.

The practitioners include Mr. Cao Yawen from Qinghe Township, Guiyaung County; Mr. Zhang Liexiang from the Chenzhou Power Bureau; Ms. He Jincui, retired employee from the Suxian District Archives Bureau; Mr. Rao Jinhan, retired employee from the Chenzhou City Water Company; Ms. Wang Guizhen from Chenzhou City Air Conditioning Equipment Factory; Mr. Zheng Xuan from Chenzhou City Expressway Section, and Mr. Zhang Dahong from Chengguan Town, Yongxing County.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Shuxia, Ms. Chen Ying and Ms. Guo Dongshi were arrested on the evening of July 4, 2013, as they distributed the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party DVDs. Officers from the Beishi Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Li is currently held in the Shenyang City Detention Center. No information about the other two practitioners is available.
