Additional Persecution News from China – July 24, 2013 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 7 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhu Hefei Detained

Mr. Zhu Hefei, formerly an official at the Jiangsu Institute of Education, was arrested and taken to the Nanjing Detention Center around July 5, 2013. It was the third time he was detained there. Over a dozen police officers and 610 Office agents ransacked his home, and confiscated two computers, three laptop computers, Falun Gong books and CDs, and other personal belongings.

2. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yuan Chunlin Detained

Ms. Yuan Chunli took a train from Lianyungang to Xuzhou City on July 21, 2013. She was arrested by officers from the Xuzhou Railway Bureau because she was found to have a copy of Zhuan Falun in her possession. Her home was ransacked that same evening, and she is currently being detained at the Xuzhou Railway Police Department.

3. [Siping, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu Peng Imprisoned

Mr. Xu Peng is being held in Siping Prison. He has been denied family visits.

4. [Chaoyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Hu Juncheng's Home Ransacked

Damiao Town police broke into Mr. Hu Juncheng's home in Beizi Hutong Village on the morning of June 7, 2013 when no one was at home. They confiscated an image of Master Li, a copy of Hong Yin III, an MP3 player, a desk calendar, and a wall picture with messages about Falun Gong.

The police didn't leave Mr. Hu's home until that afternoon. They subsequently returned two more times.

5. [Beijing] Mr. Kang Dongqing Detained

Mr. Kang Dongqing was arrested on the morning of July 18, 2013, as soon as he left home for work. The police had been waiting outside for quite some time. They proceeded to ransack his home, and confiscated Falun Gong books, his cell phone, computer, and other personal belongings. Mr. Kang is currently being held in the Fengtai Detention Center.

Two other practitioners surnamed Zhang and Wang, who live in Yihe Villa in the Haidian District, were also arrested at home on July 18, 2013. The police confiscated an image of Master Li, Falun Gong books, informational materials, a computer, a printer, and other personal belongings. The two practitioners are currently in the Haidian Detention Center.

6. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yulan Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Liu Yulan, 58, from Qijiadai Township, was arrested at home on the morning of July 23, 2013. More than a dozen officers from the Pingquan County Domestic Security Division and the township police station took her directly to a brainwashing center.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Chi Yao Sentenced to Prison

Jinshan District Court officials sentenced Ms. Chi Yao to three-and-a-half-years in prison.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Li Arrested

Ms. Xu Li was arrested by officers from the Jiaojinshan Police Station on July 22, 2013, as she distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Her home was ransacked that same evening.

9. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yanfang Sent to Brainwashing Center

Li Qian, the Zhenxing Neighborhood Committee director, along with Party secretary Guo Yuxian, harassed Ms. Liu Yanfang at home on the morning of July 22, 2013.

More than a dozen police officers broke into Ms. Liu's home that afternoon and took her directly to the Minghuatai Hotel Brainwashing Center.

10. [Qingyang, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Baomin Harassed

Officers from the Pengyuan Township Police Station in the Xifeng District broke into Mr. Wang Baomin's home on the morning of July 19, 2013. They searched his home but did not find anything they wanted.

11. [Woyang County, Anhui Province] Seven Practitioners Face Trial

Local police arrested elderly practitioner Mr. Wang Xuebin in late May 2012. Mr. Wang was bailed out and returned home more than four months later. We have learned that Woyang County Court officials scheduled a trial for Mr. Wang and six other practitioners on July 26, 2013. The practitioners included Ms. Liu Cui, Ms. Tan Yarong, Ms. Zhang Xia, and Mr. Zhang Li.

12. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ding Yao Arrested

Ms. Ding Yao was arrested on July 19, 2013.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Xing Limin Paralyzed from Torture in Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Xing Limin, in her sixties, was subjected for forced labor three times. Her latest imprisonment was in Xin'an Women's Forced Labor Camp. Division No. 4 head Li Ziping and collaborators beat Ms. Xing so harshly that she became paralyzed below the waist. She was released on medical parole in January 2012. She still can't move around.

14. [Naning, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhai Yuxin on Hunger Strike

Ms. Zhai Yuxin is on a hunger strike in the Nanjing Detention Center to protest the illegal detention.
