(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 111 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

2. [Yanqing County, Beijing] Two Practitioners Arrested; One Missing
Mr. Fan Rulin and Mr. Zhao Liuji were among practitioners who were arrested on July 18. Ms. Yang Yuhong is missing.
3. [Meihekou, Jilin Province] Ms. Tao Shuqin Incarcerated in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Tao Shuqin, in her 60s, was arrested by Shancheng Town deputy head Lan Qinghong and local police on July 27. She is currently held in the Meihekou City Military Hostel Brainwashing Center.
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhou Changxu Arrested; His Whereabouts Unknown
Local police arrested Mr. Zhou Changxu, about 40, from his home in Taoyuan Street, the Zhongshan District on the evening of July 29. His whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Guiying Extorted Money and Harassed
Ms. Wang Guiying, in her 60s, from Beidingwu Village, Liangzhao Township, was arrested on October 8, 2012 when she spoke with people about Falun Gong at a market. She was held in the Renqiu Detention Center for 22 days. Renqiu Domestic Security Division officers extorted nearly 100,000 yuan from her family before she was released on medical parole.
Renqiu Procurators have threatened and harassed Ms. Wang's son since March 2013, to pressure him to bring his mother to the Procuratorate and the court.
6. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Shulan Faces Second Trial
Ms. Chen Shulan from the Changping District faces a second trial on August 1. Five members of Ms. Chen's family of six have died as a result of the persecution.
7. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Defu Under Forced Brainwashing in Prison
Mr. Liu Defu, 62, was arrested on December 9, 2012 as he spoke with people about Falun Gong on the street. Dadong District Court officials sentenced him to three years in prison in April 2013. He was sent to Xihu Prison in Benxin City on June 7.
After he was imprisoned, he was forced to listen to materials slandering Falun Gong, and forced to make a statement to “express his attitude.” Under huge pressure, his blood pressure reached as high as 255. He now has chest pain and is dizzy. His family requested the prison authorities to release him on medical parole, but they were turned down.
8. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. Fan Guifen Sent to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Fan Guifen from Heluoying Township was arrested at home on the evening of July 29. Officers from the Longhua 610 Office and Domestic Security Division took her to a brainwashing center located in the Minghuatai Hotel in Chengde City.
9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr .Yuan Bin Sent to Brainwashing Center Upon His Release from Prison
Mr. Yuan Bin's eight-year term in Wumaping Prison was up on July 27. When Mr. Yuan's family arrived in the prison early that morning to pick him up, they found that Mr. Yuan had been taken away in a judicial bureau car. He was taken directly to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.
10. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Hong and Ms. Wu Huazhen Arrested
Ms. Zhu Hong, 57, and Ms. Wu Huazhen, 59, from Dashiba, the Jiangbei District were arrested on the morning of July 30 as they spoke with a person (plainclothes police officer) about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Shimahe Police Station, but were able to walk out of the police station with righteous thoughts that same afternoon.
11. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Lijie Missing Since 2000
Ms. Zhang Lijie went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in 2000, and since then no information about her is known.
12. [Zhanhua County, Shandong Province] Mr. Fan Zhiyong Arrested, Home Ransacked
Mr. Fan Zhiyong was arrested and his home was ransacked. His computer and printer and other personal belongings were confiscated.
