Additional Persecution News from China – September 9, 2013 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 23 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Shantou, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Qia Faces Trial Mr. Wang Qia faces trial scheduled for the morning of September 11, 2013, in Chenghai Court.

2. [Rizhao, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Yahui Sent to Brainwashing Center Ms. Cui Yahui was arrested on August 12, 2013, and sent to the Rizhao Detention Center that same night. She is now in the Zhangqiu Brainwashing Center.

3. [Shanghai] Four Practitioners Given Suspended Sentence Qingpu District Court officials tried four practitioners, Ms. Wang Aijuan, Ms. Miao Cuiyun, Ms. Qi Guozhen, and Ms. Fan Huijuan, on September 4, 2013. Ms. Wang was given a three-year-and-two-month suspended sentence, while the three other practitioners were given a three-year suspended sentence. The four practitioners have been released.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Lu Jing Missing There hasn't been any information about Ms. Lu Jing since September 4, 2013.

5. [Huaying City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xiang Lin Physically Abused in Prison Mr. Xiang Lin, 39, was transferred from Guangyuan Prison to Wumaping Prison in 2010. He was tortured from July 2-22, 2013. He was placed in the burning sun for more than 10 hours each day. He was only allowed to sleep 4-5 hours each night, and he was forced to stand without moving for several hours each day.

Mr. Xiang stayed away from home to avoid the persecution in August 2004. He was arrested in November 2006 and sentenced to seven years in prison.

6. [Dezhou, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested Six practitioners, including Ms. Liu Yuxiu and Ms. Luo, were arrested on the evening of September 7, 2013. They were taken to the Hubin Road Police Station in the Decheng District. The police ransacked Ms. Liu's home and confiscated four printers and other personal belongings.

7. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Feng Zhifu Arrested Mr. Feng Zhifu was arrested on September 6, 2013. His home was ransacked.

8. [Xiaogan, Hubei Province] Mr. Shen Xuewu Detained Mr. Shen Xueyu was transferred from the Wuhan City No. 2 Detention Center to the Jianghan District Detention Center in May 2013.

9. [Qianxi, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Fengzhi Arrested Ms. Gao Fengzhi was arrested on September 4, 2013, because she happened to give a Shen Yun Performing Arts DVD to a plainclothes police officer. She was taken to the Chengguan Police Station. She was sent to the Kangli Hospital for a physical that same afternoon. Her blood pressure was 180/100.

The police then took Ms. Gao to the Qianxi County Detention Center, but the officials there refused to accept her. The police took Ms. Gao back to the Chengguan Police Station and released her.

10. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Ren Huihong Sent to Brainwashing Center Agents from the 610 Office and Domestic Security Division and several police officers ransacked Ms. Ren Huihong's home on August 20, 2013. They confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials before they took Ms. Ren to a brainwashing center.

11. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Qiaoling and Mr. Ma Haoxin Held in Brainwashing Center Mr. Wang Min and Ms. Yuan Ying from Paotai Town, the Puwan New District, were released from the Dalian Labor Camp Brainwashing Center. But Mr. Wang's wife Li Qiaoling and Ms. Yuan's husband Mr. Ma Haoxin, who went to the brainwashing center to take them home, were held there.

12. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Xiuqin Held in Brainwashing Center for 22 Days Mishan City 610 Office head Yu Xiaofeng and others arrested Ms. Ma Qiuqin outside her house at noon on August 30, 2013. They took her to a brainwashing center. Ms. Ma's husband had 4,000 yuan extorted from him.

Ms. Ma was held in the brainwashing center for 22 days. Not until her blood pressure reached 160, she suffered a cough, and became very weak did the center release her.

13. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Guofen and Ms. Tan Yonghong Harassed Ms. Yu Guofen and Ms. Tan Yonghong went to the Wendeng City Domestic Security Division on September 4, 2013. They wanted their Dafa books and their cell phones returned. The police confiscated them when they ransacked the practitioner's home. Police officer Ding Mingjie yelled at them.

Ms. Yu lives in Sanlihe Village. Security guard Liang went to Ms. Yu's home on the morning of September 6. He told Ms. Yu's husband to go to the Domestic Security Division in an attempt to extort 1000 yuan from him. He even told her husband to watch Ms. Yu closely.

14. [Renshou County, Sichuan Province] Ten Practitioners Illegally Sentenced More than 40 practitioners from Renshou County have been arrested since September 1, 2012. Ten of them were tried, and seven of them have been held in the county detention center for a year.

Renshou County Court officials sentenced the ten practitioners on August 28, 2013. Mr. Chen Xiangren, 67, was sentenced to 5 years in prison; Mr. Liao Xuekang, 69, and Mr. Liu Hancai, 82, were each given a 5-year prison term; Ms. Zhang Guofen, 75, and Ms. Huang Xueying, 45, were each sentenced to four years in prison; Ms. Liu Dan, 33, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison; Ms. Lu Hongqun, 36, was given a three-year prison term, but suspended for 5 years; Ms. Zhang Xiaomin, 56, and Mr. Liu Shaoming, 59, were each given a two-year prison term; Ms. Peng Yueying, 57, was given a two-year prison term, but suspended for 3 years.

15. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yusi Arrested More than 20 police officers broke into Ms. Wang Yusi's home on the evening of August 29, 2013. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, printer and other personal belongings before taking her into custody. The police also arrested Ms. Wang's mother and held her for 5 days before releasing her. Ms. Wang's mother has been running a high fever and is bedridden.

16. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Xinghui Arrested Ms. Zhou Xinghui was arrested on August 30, 2013 when she was seen talking to people about Falun Gong. More then a dozen officers from the Youzha Street Police Station broke into her home the next day and confiscated her computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.
