Additional Persecution News from China – September 8, 2013 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Zhou Xiaoping Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhou Xiaoping, a teacher at Beijing Film Academy, went to Beijing to visit a friend, Song Zhuang, in April 2013. He was reported by his friend's landlord for distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was arrested, and his whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Yanqun Detained

Ms. Song Yanqun was arrested by Pan Guotian and other officers from the Beicheng Police Station on the morning of September 7, 2013. She is being held at the Beicheng Police Station.

3. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Yuqin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yuqin, 56, was followed on her way home by officers on September 3, 2013. The police arrested her as soon as she arrived home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and a picture of its founder. Her nine-year-old grandson was also arrested and taken to a brainwashing center with her. They have now been released.

4. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xiaomin Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Xiaomin, who works for the Chunhua Tree Farm of the Forestry Bureau, was arrested by the director and Party head of the tree farm on the morning of September 7, 2013. She was taken to a brainwashing center.

5. [Lanxi County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Guojie Arrested

Ms. Liu Guojie was arrested after she left her office on the afternoon of September 6, 2013.

6. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Three Female Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yu Shuqin, Ms Qi Xiuying, and Ms. Huan Jingxia were arrested at Ms. Yu’s home by several plainclothes officers on September 5, 2013. They were taken to a detention center.

7. [Fucheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Zhizheng Arrested

Mr. Zhu Zhizheng was arrested at home by three unidentified people on the afternoon of September 6, 2013. They confiscated his laptop computer, printer, and DVD player. Mr. Zhu was taken to the Fucheng County Police Department.

8. [Shanghai] Ms. Shen Yizhi Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Shen Yizhi was arrested on the afternoon of September 2, 2013. Her whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Jingyuan, Ms. Zhao Yunxia, Ms. Liu Fengling, and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Yangqu County Police Department on September 5, 2013, when they went to a rural village to speak to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes.

10. [Nanning City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Huang Qiuhui Arrested

Ms. Huang Qiuhui was recently arrested by officers from the Nanning Police Station.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Fan Liangying and Ms. Wang Rongfang Arrested

Ms. Fan Liangying and Ms. Wang Rongfang were arrested by officers from the Qinduankou Police Station on August 23, 2013, while they were distributing information pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Fan was taken to the Fourth Survey and Design Institute of China Railways (CRFSDI) in Wuchang. Ms. Wang’s whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhou Dulun's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhou Dulun left home on the evening of September 6, 2013. The police used Mr. Zhou’s key to enter his home the next afternoon and confiscated a Falun Gong book, materials pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong, and a picture of its founder. Mr. Zhou’s whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Dongyuan County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Qiu Hannong Arrested

Mr. Qiu Hannong was arrested in September 2013 while speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

14. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sui Mingyun and Ms. Qi Yonghua Arrested

Ms. Sui Mingyun, 65, and Ms. Qi Yonghua, 64, were arrested at the Gushan Market by two plainclothes officers on the morning of August 27, 2013, while speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

15. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Baolian Detained

Ms. Li Baolian was arrested and frisked at the Baoji Train Station by the railway police officers in the very early morning of September 3, 2013 when she was getting off the train. She was later detained at the Maying Police Station for 10 days.

16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Hengjin Arrested

Mr. Ma Hengjin was arrested on the afternoon of September 7, 2013.

17. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xin Suying and Ms. Yang Ying Detained

Ms. Xin Suying and Ms. Yang Ying were arrested by officers from the Kalaqin Town Police Station on the morning of September 5, 2013. They are now being held at the Jianping County Detention Center.

18. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xuan Shuang Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

Ms. Xuan Shuang was arrested and held in the Daqing Detention Center for about three months. She was then sentenced to 15 years in prison and has been incarcerated in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison since September 2, 2013.

19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Zhongfang was arrested at home on the morning of September 4, 2013, by police who were waiting for them. Ms. Yang Yafei, Ms. Li’s daughter, and her friend, Ms. Yunyun, were also arrested that afternoon when they arrived at Ms. Li’s home. They are all being held at the Fuqin Police Station.

20. [Chongqing] Mr. Peng Shigui Arrested

Mr. Peng Shigui was arrested at home by a dozen officers from the Shapingba District Police Station and Jingkou Police Station 610 Office on September 6, 2013. The police confiscated his computer, printer, disks, and materials with information about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Xue was arrested at home by officers on the afternoon of September 6, 2013. The police confiscated her computer, printer, and 8,000 yuan in cash. She is now being held at the Duoying Detention Center.
