Ms. Liu's wrote the following account of the abuse she suffered.
Arrested for Appealing for Falun Gong
In early February 2000, my husband Mr. Wang Hongbin and I were illegally arrested because we did the Falun Gong exercises at Tiananmen Square. I was detained in Dalian Drug Addiction Treatment Center for eleven days and was extorted of more than 2,000 yuan. My husband was sent to a forced labor camp.
Because I held up a banner on Tiananmen Square in May 2000, I was detained in the Dalian Drug Addiction Treatment Center again. Other fellow practitioners and I were beaten brutally. We held hunger strikes to protest the torture, and were all force-fed. Some of us were dying. After being held for 12 days, I was released. I was extorted of more than 6,000 yuan.
I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong again in October, and was again arrested.
I stayed at my brother's home for a while after being released. The police broke into my brother's home right after I left. My brother tried to escape by climbing down a pipe that led out of a window, but he fell and was arrested. The police pressured him to tell them where I lived, but he refused. The police stayed at my brother's home to monitor him.
Sentenced to 12-Years Prison Term
My husband was arrested in May 2011 in his hometown. After being released from the forced labor camp he was soon arrested again and sentenced to a 13-years term in Jinzhou Prison in Liaoning Province.
My husband's brother, Mr. Wang Hongfeng, was arrested on July 26, 2001. His keys to my home were taken away. More than ten officers broke in and ransacked my home. They took 20,000 yuan in cash, our photocopying machine, blank paper, cell phones, and other personal belongings. I was arrested and detained at the Xigang Police Station.
I was sent to Dalian Detention Center on July 28, and then back to the Xigang Police Station a few days later. I was tied to an iron chair, and my feet were shackled. I was not allowed to sleep.
My brother-in-law was beaten so brutally that he could not walk afterward.
I went on a hunger strike. Officer Wang Yingchao tied me to an iron bed, with my hands and feet tied to an iron ring. I was not allowed to use the restroom.
I was sentenced in August 2002, but my family members were not notified. Standard court procedures were not followed. I told the court, “Your job is to represent and uphold justice, but now you stand for evil.” I was dragged out of the court.
I was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and my brother in law was sentenced to 9 years. I appealed for him but it did nothing.
Tortured in Prison—Sleep Deprivation
I was beaten then tied up and put into a small cell. Four prisoners monitored me around the clock. I was given only a small steamed bun to eat every day. The restraints were not loosened even when I went to the toilet. I was not allowed to wash or change my clothes, and I had to sleep on the concrete floor.
I was sent back to the jail room and monitored by criminal inmates. I was not allowed to sleep, and remained tied up this way for more than 20 days.
In March 2004, I saw a fellow practitioner being forced to pin a piece of paper filled with slanderous language to Master's image. I went to appeal to the division head. Guard Zuo Xiaoyan threw me out of her office. As punishment I was not allowed to eat or use the toilet. I was beaten by more than ten people that evening. As a result of the beating, I was entirely covered in black and blue bruises.
Stripped and Humiliated
In the daytime, my hands were cuffed behind my back and I had to stand in front of the office. In the evening, my clothes were stripped off except for my underwear, and I was tied onto a bed. It was March and very cold, but the guards opened the windows.
One day the guards stripped off all my clothes and hung me by my handcuffs in the restroom. They poured cold water over me and insulted me.
Arm Disabled
One day, the guards pulled my left arm up from my lower back and pulled my right arm down from my shoulder to my back and cuffed my two hands together. I was then hung from the handcuffs. My legs were then pulled apart, my clothes were stripped off, and they wrote messages which slandered Falun Dafa all over my body.
When I was unfastened, my left armed was disabled and could no longer be moved.
Made to Work Overtime
In August 2006, my abdomen and legs were in severe pain. I had high fevers and was coughing up blood. I was sent to the hospital. Four months later, after I was released from the hospital, I was still forced to do strenuous work.
The guards tried to force me to recite the prison rules but I refused.
Hung Up and Mouth Sealed with Tape
Guard Jiao Lingling hung me from a car. She sealed my mouth with tape and forced me to bend over. She then tied my neck to my legs. I was not allowed to sleep at night.
Brutally Beaten
I was ordered to fill out a form in late 2009, so I wrote something good about Falun Dafa. The next day, in retaliation, I was shocked with an electric baton.
On two occasions, guard Zuo Xiaoyan told two others to beat me. My bottom was black with bruises and I could not sit or even lay down.
Zuo Xiaoyan forced us to work extra long hours every day. We had to work until 11:00 p.m., and sometimes until 3:00 or 4:00 a.m.
Persecution Continues
I was prohibited from talking to anyone in late 2012, and not allowed to use hot water or sit on cushions. Practitioner Su Dongan was so brutally persecuted that she was on the verge of death.
Practitioners Wang Jing and Zhang Shuxia are currently being severely persecuted. They are not allowed to talk or buy any daily necessities.
