(Minghui.org) More and more Chinese have learned the real story behind the persecution of Falun Gong through practitioner's relentless efforts for over a decade. A combination of misconception about Falun Gong and fear of the Party has prevented such support in the early years of the persecution, but the situation has dramatically changed.
A petition drive to stop the persecution was held in Hebei Province, where 6,452 people signed the petition within 20 days. Besides signing, many people expressed their sincere support for Falun Gong. The following recounts encounters with several supporters.
Head of the Women's Committee Seeks to Sign the Petition
Many people signed the petition when practitioners collected signatures door-to-door. People not only signed the petition, but also told others about it. When people met on the village streets, they asked: “Have you signed the petition to end the persecution?” The head of the village women's committee heard about it. She went to a practitioner's home and said: “People are talking about signing the petition, but I haven't signed it yet. I want to sign. I also want to call for an end to the persecution.”
“This Is a Serious Issue”
One person read about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) harvesting Falun Gong practitioner's organs on the petition form and said, “This is a serious issue that relates to people's lives. I'm signing to support you. I oppose killing.”
Farmer Asks Friends to Sign
A farmer learned about Falun Gong and signed the petition. He then called his friends and asked them to sign it. He said: “I ran out of credit on my phone, but 19 more people agreed to sign the petition.”
“The Practitioners in Our Village Are All Good People”
Another farmer happily signed the petition. After that, he called other farmers over and said: “Come here, sign this petition and call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. We know that the practitioners in our village are all good people. We need to have a conscience and support them.” They all signed.
People from Other Villages Sign
A few people from another village came to visit their relatives and saw the petition. One person said: “We will sign. Please write all our family member's names on it. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is so evil. They are corrupt and harvest organs from living practitioners. They murder practitioners for money.”
“Falun Gong Is Good!”
One practitioner went to the market to collect signatures. Many people who had learned the truth about the persecution signed. One person even shouted: “Falun Gong is good!”
Some people not only signed their names, they also wrote “Falun Gong is good!” as a comment after their names.
“Let Heaven Destroy [the CCP] Soon”
One practitioner came across a friend and told him about the petition. His friend signed immediately after reading the information about how practitioners were persecuted and had their organs harvested. He said: “The CCP is so evil, let heaven destroy it soon. Then we will all be liberated, and there will be hope for China.”
