(Minghui.org) A Chinese woman recently engaged in a short exchange with a Falun Gong practitioner on a Sunday afternoon in Singapore's Chinatown:
“This is material about the truth of Falun Gong and the persecution. Please read it. Have you heard of Falun Gong?” said a practitioner who offered her some printed material.
“Falun Gong? Hasn't it already disappeared?” the woman asked.
“No. It hasn't. It has spread to over 100 countries and is legal everywhere except in China.”
“Really? I have been living in Singapore for 15 years. I thought no one practiced Falun Gong anymore.”
“Many have persevered – even in mainland China where the brutal persecution has been going on for 15 years,” the practitioner replied.
“I know about the persecution. Why haven't the bad people received karmic retribution yet?”
“There have been many such cases. Please read our materials. Would you also sign our petition? It calls for ending the Chinese regime's state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.”
The woman thought for a moment and wrote down her full name and email address. She also took a copy of all the materials and said that she would read them carefully.
Singapore's Chinatown, also referred to as Niu Che Shui (ox-cart water), is the area where Chinese immigrants concentrated when they initially came to Singapore. For many new Chinese immigrants, it is still the destination of choice for meeting people and shopping.
Falun Gong practitioners come to Chinatown to distribute truth-clarification materials and collect signatures to call for an end to the persecution, in particular the Chinese regime's forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.
Today, more Chinese continue to come to Singapore to work, study, or visit. Statistics have shown that between 800,000 to a million mainland Chinese are currently living in Singapore.
Two men from Henan Province asked for informational materials. One of them said, “It's hard to get such information [in mainland China]. We cannot find it on the Internet. Today is a good opportunity for us to read these materials!”
In response to the practitioner's question about whether he had quit the Chinese communist organizations, he said, “I refused to join those organizations. The Chinese Communist Party lies every day! China Central Television (the main mouthpiece for the Party) constantly lies!”
Both men signed the petition and took the DVD of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. They shook hands with the practitioner before saying goodbye.
In virtually every corner of Chinatown, Chinese laborers gather. They dress simply and are deeply tanned from long hours working outdoors. The practitioners were still speaking to these men even as darkness fell, offering them truth-clarification materials, petition forms, and a pure heart. Their wish is for all Chinese people to know the truth.
